The irony is OS that we do not adopt this method when we are leading with 10 minutes to go when it might be more appropriate.
Hullo lads, gutted we didn't get three points today but given that we expected nothing before the game we'll count it as a point gained. We had a number of chances to get the third and failed to do so, in those last ten minutes it was beginning to feel inevitable, but a lot of Latics supporters are saying it wasn't a free kick? Other end of the ground from us. Anyway, all the best for the rest of the season, happier to see Spurs in the top four out of all the London clubs!
Spurf. If it wasn't so funny it would be serious. But while the wums are visiting us,they could be out there grabbing old ladies handbags!!!!!!Chelsea Pensioners handbags maybe.......
The fact that you also finished in 6th place in the PL should give you another indication!...but, of course, you will see what you want to see.
I didn't come on to this thread when Spurs had just played, I had been on it throughout the match. I do this to see how spurs supporters on here think a game can be changed, or what is going right or wrong or how tactics can be changed by bringing on a different player etc. I still have an interest in how AVB is doing as I thought he would fit in well at Tottenham. I didn't come on here to wum just typed what I felt at the time, and I don't see why you would not be in the best of moods as you had just managed to scrape a draw from a game that you almost lost.
Because we played abysmally, couldn't score a proper goal against Wigan, and judging on the performance haven't a hope of getting the four wins that we will now need to get 4th place.
You all know why we finished in 6th place, it was due to having to stretch players in so many games, the strongest players couldn't play in every game, something had to give. I don't see what I want to see, it is a fact that we fielded a weaker team a few times in PL games at the end of the season and it didn't work.
Without wishing to sound like i'm gloating in any way, enjoy your battle for 5th with Everton In all seriousness though, you should have lost today, Wigan ****ing up has kept you in this fight for 3rd-4th.
In all seriousness though, IF you had half a brain you'd keep your gob shut until after tomorrow! That way you might not make yourself look stupid!..!
The trouble with football today is there are imo too many cups and competitions, the longer you stay in the harder it gets, even now we are asking will we field the stronger team tomorrow or save them for Thursday. do we drop down in the PL again this season to win a prize for our managers CV. We had a strange season last season but definitely lost it at the end.
Final thought about the Wigan match, perhaps. With the handout from the Cup Final maybe Wigan might invest in a few lawn mowers to cut that bloody grass......
I expect they'll blow it all on carting their fans to Wembley and back, its the only way they'll get a decent crowd to go.
Gutted we didn't win the game, but 4 points against Man City and Wigan (at home) in hindsight is probably better than expected. But it's a shame that once again, destiny is out of our hands and we are relying on other teams to lose. Really not looking forward to the Chelsea V Spurs match potentially being the "decider" as to who gets a CL spot!
Not sure why Martinez is moaning about the ref yesterday. I assume that he missed the offence that should've seen his side reduced to 10 men. I can understand his disappointment on not taking all 3 points, but he's misdirecting the blame there, in my opinion.
I can't see the point of moaning about the officials after the match because absolutely nothing is going to change the score line, may as well just accept it and move on. I'm going to copy another Spurs supporter who posted that being reduced to ten men is not a disadvantage because often ten have drawn or beaten eleven. So why some want a player sent off seems to me to be a totally misguided want when it's often to no advantage to the opposition.
I'm sorry TMT, but I don't follow your logic on that one. Whilst I understand that people might not want to criticise the officials, as it doesn't achieve anything, but the 10 men thing doesn't make sense. A team that concedes the first goal is at a disadvantage. That doesn't mean that they still can't go on to win the game. The same applies to playing with fewer players.
