We should be ahead. Should have had a penalty. Not a bad performance against a decent opponent. West Ham haven't shown much, but have made our defence look uncomfortable on a few occasions.
Bit of a crap start but grew into the game as the half wore on, but clearly needing somebody in the middle who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck which matches like this need - especially if we want to keep Antonio quiet in the second half
Too much deliberate play from Spurs we need to move quicker and scare them more. Steadily improved through the half but very little from either of our wings. Our two new defenders look a bit soft for the PL so far but it is very early days for them.
Controlled possession for large parts but passing’s been iffy, especially cross-field passes to Reguilon. Should probably be 2-1 to us at the moment, Son, Kane and Soucek all with good opportunities.
I cannot fathom how after a week's rest, this bunch are still able to look tired and ponderous. And it isn't the first time this season.
Was late to the game and only saw the last replay of the pen shout, where it wasn't clear that Zouma has made a challenge. Looking at it at half-time, it's a pretty clear foul. Not sure why Souness thinks what Tanguy's doing is relevent. They both go for the ball, Tanguy gets it and Zouma catches him after the ball's gone - how's that Tanguy's fault at all? Anyway, not a thriller so far but I'm fairly pleased, it's interesting watching Lucas and Tanguy switching and I think we can look to push them both forward in the second half.
We can only hope the week’s rest will pay proper dividends in the second half where (hopefully) some West Ham players start to fade… Wishful, I know.
Considering how their pitch has the same dimensions as ours, I'm trying to work out how we seem to have overhit every single diagonal out to him
Weve not been bad. Though we’ve not looked like a team who’s had a week’s rest. The better side I’d say but not in a dominating sense.
