I declined from commenting on that aspect, other than thinking that the Ann Summers "party reps" may have to do a fair bit of overtime in the next few weeks.
It seems that West ham are not one of the six clubs seeking to break away from the current split of foreign TV money. The intention is for those clubs with more significant foreign supporters to trouser more of the money. I'm not sure why why the Spammers aren't pushing for a bigger share. West Ham do have a significant foreign support. From Barrack Obama to Katy Perry, from Lennox Lewis to.........Barrack Obama..........and did I mention Katy Perry? Oh, I did.
I think one goalie was killed diving at someones feet. (It may have been between the wars and may have been in Scotland....maybe!)
Bayern were playing the possible winners of this seasons CL. My Lord, these chairmen want miracles. They could have waited for the return and see how good Bayern really are (Bundesleague apart).
Every time I try to remember what football was like before the backpass rule my brain hurts a bit. Amazing that it took that long for the rule to change. How was football not just crap all the time? Surely being really boring and defending a 1-0 lead would've been a perfectly viable tact...oh yeah - I remember that time now!
I just think Arsenal with The Bloke in the Coat in charge. When Wenger became their manager it must have been like the invention of Technicolour for them. Next thing you know, Sugar employs The Bloke in the Coat and without the back pass being available, he manages to reproduce the same grey football. A remarkable, if undesirable, achievement. Apparently, Jack Charlton's Ireland were the final nail in the coffin of the back pass. In the Ireland v Egypt game in the 1990 World Cup, of the 40 minutes the ball was 'in play', it spent over 6 minutes in Pat Bonner's hands. Anti-football.
