Was it just for the handball? Commentator said something about him running over to the linesman... Anyway, big bollocks.
Yep, that's a Pochettino side alright. Good luck lads, inshallah he'll get you a bit more fluid moving forward than he ever did with us.
we will really need to dig in to get a draw out of this match...think a win is out the question considering we ain't made their keeper make a save and Ade is having an AVB rather than an Sherwood performance
There is always a chance with the vision of Bentaleb and Eriksen. Pace of Lennon and the finishing quality of? always a slight chance a team with 10 men can sit deep and hit on the counter but we have a real lack of leadership and composure at the back which is making Carlton Cole look dangerous.
We can all understand the penalty, yes it's close but Naughton should know better than to put his hands up. I've said before the "denying a clear goal scoring opportunity" is a joke, it's open to the refs to interpret as they please. If Ki had been bowled over before his opener today there would have been no danger it counted as a clear goalscoring opportunity despite him having nearly the whole goal to aim for, yet on MOTD they'll know doubt make the case that Nolan's half chance was a clear goalscoring opportunity. Lloris is right next to where the ball's heading(fairly tamely) and saves that 11 times out of 10 but the refs can ignore that, just as they can ignore that in being awarded a penalty they're getting a far better opportunity to score. Certain other teams wouldn't get these decisions consistently go against them and they wouldn't even have conceded the penalty today. Oh well, back to the PL with the reality of dodgy decisions getting thrown straight at us. Last season we had 2 red card and penalties go against us which had to be rescinded, the damage was done then and it's been done again now. Best we can hope for is a cheeky 1 nil but that looks very unlikely with the way we're defending(set-pieces in particular). We were poor even before then but the chance for usto turn it around has been taken away.
I think a win is more than possible as West Ham push forward giving us more opportunity on the break. Very harsh bunch you are I didn't think we were that bad, plenty of possesion and Erikson moving the ball around well, Lamella bright and just needing a break.
You almost said something positive there, but then changed your mind. I guess it was too much against your nature.
The opening 10 was okay, we needed to improve our passing in the final third considerably though. After that we gave the ball away in stupid areas and continued to give West Ham half chances whilst creating nothing of our own.
Dreadful decision, but hasn't really made any difference so far. We still had 55% possession, but looked shaky defensively throughout. No real attacking cohesion, but wouldn't be too quick to put the blame on Ade. Lamela is very disappointing - poor touch and misplaced passes. Rose is getting ripped a new one from Dowling. Bentaleb hasn't been great either. Capoue has probably been our best player. Dire hasn't done too bad either. Interesting to see how Poch arranges things 2nd half.
First half stats....we had 55% possession....0 shots on target (west ham 1) ... 1 shot off target (west ham 5)...0 shots blocked (west ham 2) .... 4 crosses (west ham 10) ... 1 corner (west ham 5) We have committed more fouls though! Think we will need to change it around in 2nd half...Ade not doing it so swap him for kane, townsend for capoue and soldado for lennon...at least that might cause them some problems...but this is probably why I am a fan and not a manager
No need to panic yet. If Adebayor isn't keen on performing for Pochettino then we have Soldado on the bench.
