You also have to remember Di Canio's reputation for, er... a lack of political correctness?
While I'm sure that some West Ham fans see that as a positive, I doubt that a number of their players would.

  2. Totally with you on this one.
Had an horrendous experience there about 20 years ago when penned into the covered lower tier - and had to suffer their Neanderthals threatening each and every Spurs fan including a couple of 6/7 year old kids with their mum!! We won as I recall, but I vowed that day never to return.

Academy of Football? More an Academy of Institutional Thuggery!! A reputation based on a few of years in the mid-late 60's when they were lucky enough to have 3 World Cup winners on their books. The fact that they are now owned by Porn Merchants just about sums them up.

Next time I'll say what I really think.......... :emoticon-0121-angry

Why would a Chelsea fan hate Tarricco?

Tarricco had numerous run ins with Chelsea players, the last was when he wiped out Le Saux and got a red card for it over there place.

To be fair though, I think that fans of most clubs hated tarricco!

realistically if we don't win this game I doubt we'll have enough to make top 4. We should be looking at 70 points plus, which would be tricky without these 3.

So you want 8 wins out of the remaining 12? You don't ask for much do you. Can't see Arsenal or Everton getting more than 65 points with the games they have left so 6 wins should suffice.

Just going on previous seasons, 4th place seems to be almost without fail in the 68-72 point bracket.

Can you really see Chelsea winning 7 of their last 12, and Everton and/or Arsenal winning 9 out of 12. I can't.

4 of Chelsea's last 6 games of the season are against us, Pool, United, and Everton. April is particularly nasty for us though, with Chelsea, Everton and City. The Goons only have United to come in a similar period, ending away to Toon.

I couldn't see us surrendering an 8 point lead last season, but it happened. Everton and Arsenal always pick up for the final third of the season, especially when Arsenal have nothing else to fight for.

Yeah but it's in your hands this season, and you are at home. Beat Arsenal then the gap is 8 points with only 10 games remaining assuming you can match their result v Villa

League is weaker now though, it won't take as many points to stay up and it won't take as many points to get top 4

Doesn't that make the league stronger? If the top clubs get fewer points? More competitive...

Why can't we? We should be beating the likes of West Ham, WBA, Sunderland and Swansea at home, and we should be beating Fulham and Villa away too and we usually beat Spurs. Everton will have nothing to play for on the last day of the season and its Lampard's last game, last game of the season is usually a gimme for home teams.

United will have the title wrapped up by the time we play them, Everton will have nothing to play for so the only hard game is Pool away.

Yeah but your mentally tougher this season and the teams chasing you (unlike last season) are not as good.

Notso and YV will go nuts if I start this argument off again and I don't want to go more off topic than I already have done <laugh>

To me, a strong league is like in the 05/06 and 06/07 seasons or even last season.

Yes, I'd say the Premier League is significantly stronger that it's been for many years now.

There's good quality players in all of the 20 clubs and on their day, any of those teams can get a result against any of the other 19.
