A repeat of the Stoke game, with the result masking a poor performance. This time last season we went into Beast Mode for the last three games, swatting aside Expensive Stoke before obliterating Leicester and Hull - but can anyone see us doing the same against West Brom, Newcastle and Leicester this season? The combination of some players being knackered while others off form says the last three games are far more likely to be result over performance as well.
Since Chelsky bottled it, the squad have shown an apathy and complacency that is unacceptable. Similarly, Pochettino has been dogmatically stubborn in his starting XIs and subs. WBA have it all to play for next game. More of the above and we will get turned over.
Might as well sell Moura if we're not going to use him. We managed about 10 minutes of good football at the start of the half and the rest was back to the first half. Good job Watford are on the beach too. Shocking refereeing again too. gave some pathetically soft decisions against us and let an awful lot go against us. Wanyama getting booked for getting raked down the leg by a shocking challenge summed it up.
cos Watford were singing "it's happened again" God knows what has happened but apparently it had...and they were singing "**** all...you never win **** all" they were annoyingly twatty tbh...like West ham but they didn't beat each other up
The one thing that could work in our favour on Saturday is that West Brom have to win. A draw and they are relegated. They will have to take risks against us. Hopefully we can pick them off on the break
Fair enough RCL! Didn’t hear those chants but that’s understandable that we gave that response in those circumstances.
in the Wembley queue wasting my life away...and at my age that's quite a worry! We were a bit sloppy at times but to be honest at this stage of the season all we needed to do was win and we did that. Think people are being harsh on Dier...he made 1 shocking mistake in 1st half but was good otherwise. Dembele was poor...but Wanyama did better than previously and we did not allow Watford to bully us. Sanchez and Vertongen were excellent and Trippier outstanding imo Very happy tonight... fooled you!
Well, that was a mixed bag..... First up, we didn't play well. Occasionally, we'd do something good. Mostly, it was "Meh". From time to time we were absolutely dreadful. Mostly in the latter stages of the first half when Hugo and some indifferent finishing kept us ahead at half time. At that point, I could see us losing. As good as Hugo was, Mousa was bad. He tried to prove that he couldn't perform as badly again as he did against United, by performing worse. Much, much worse. He should have come off at half time. Nobody played really well, apart from Jan although Davidson did okay. The players seemed to need lifting by the crowd, who mostly were flat. That was about the worst Wembley experience in the PL. Loads of empty seats [only 57,000 there and a lot seemed to be in the bar areas for a lot of the game] and not much desire to get 'stuck in' to get the team over the line. My voice gave out at half time. P.s. Watford are the new WBA or Stoke. Extremely physical and as bunch of ****s to boot. I hope they get relegated next season......"Luton Town, they've won more than you."
Well played - you were clinical in taking the chances whereas we didn't.. Good luck for next season and hopefully we wil be visiting your new ground next season !! Who knows - we might have scored an away by then . I wish we had strikers not playing well and still scoring...
The team looks tired Kane looks sluggish with his movement Thought Trippier had a decent game with his crossing, got another assist tonight. Eriksen looks classy but tired We need quality in depth if we are to move on next season
From my vantage point we were beating them yet again and moving towards qualifying for the Champions League again. A strange thing for them to be singing about.....but there you go. Playing at Wembley probably got to them and probably thought that they could put losing there on their role of honours with the FA Cup Final loss in '84. They were also singing about Wenger having won more than us, [which isn't the case] I should be fair to them, so, Watford's list of magnificent triumphs and trophies is shown below........ That is all.
One more win should do it for us. I might be wrong, but I can’t see the Chavs taking 3pts off Liverpool.
Depends how much energy Liverpool need to use Wednesday. Even a Chelsea win means we are close to 3rd now. On yesterday, could it be we played ss well as we needed to? A fired up Brom might bring a better performance out of us?
