The team is much better against parked busses than it was earlier in the year. While it took a long time to get a goal against Watford, our players missed a couple of sitters, Gomes was excellent and we should have had at least one pen. We’re getting a lot more width, going over the top more often, and generally getting the ball at the goal quickly these days, instead of plodding up to the box and trying to pass the ball through the middle, as the team always did under AVB and did too often earlier this year. The result has been five straight wins against weaker teams. Earlier on we tended to draw and had much more trouble scoring.

Gomes has been excellent this year. Capoue has been quite good as well.

How does he even see that free-kick? Ridiculous save.
It's a shame that he decided to have a pop after he left, but I can understand why he was unhappy with how things went.

Gomes had the abilities to be one of the best keepers around, he just let stupid clangers dent what were initially good performances. Some of the saves he pulled off for us were just unreal.

As for Capoue, whenever he played he looked a decent player but his attitude was always questionable, good to see both doing well though, they're under a good manager with Flores, I think he's gonna do really well for Watford if he gets the backing.

To be fair to Gomes on the clangers though, he did get screwed by the officials on at least two notable occasions.
Nani's handball which Clattenburg made a massive balls-up of and Lampard's goal that didn't actually cross the line.
That was followed by a Kalou goal to win the game, when he was offside for the entire move, of course. <doh>

I know a Chelsea fan that had a great view of that and he didn't join in the celebrations at the time.
He was so sure that it was going to be chalked off that he just sat there.

The problems still remain though, being clinical or not.

Yet I would contend that our GD regardless is indicative of superior play.
There is no embarrassment of striker riches like Citeh.
We don't play like Leicester and try and hit on the break when defence
    may be thin.

Against nearly all teams this season, Spurs have effectively laid siege
to the opposition box for large periods of a game. With an Aguero type
the GD would probably be in the 40s by now.

Except that the Aguero type would have to replace one of the others which might make the whole strategy ineffective.
