God I wish we had made more use of Nando. Another top pro, popular in the dressing room and still a bloody good striker (if used correctly)
Nice match for the birthday boys - One of the most clinical 45 mins we have had in recent seasons in the cup, never gave them a sniff tonight
Not giving Eyoma 30 mins and tempting fate on Kane are my only gripes today. Other than that, squad used well.
Should have been this sort of score against Cardiff, again they let me down by one match. Now my boys in white, don't get over confident, keep your studs firmly on the ground because the next test is much stiffer.
On the other hand it allowed Llorente to be the focus of the fans' applause as he left the pitch - particularly if he is to leave the club soon as rumours suggest.
Just a reminder, Ephialtes of Trachis said we'd fail if Harry Kane didn't start This is why Macclesfield are in the ****
I have to laugh we win 7 - 0 and most of the posts on the match thread are complaints about the substitutions Dreadful exhibition
So to review * Dominant win (although a ****ty thing to do at their ground) * Several key players got some long-overdue rest * Marsh and Eyoma debuts * Skipp seemed to grow during the match (not literally...) * The Board of Deputies have gone full Baddiel * Aurier gave us a good reason to not start Trippier every game * We made Vidkun Quisling's opinion look so ill-informed DEFRA will have to burn Macclesfield to the ground
I thought the new kids on the block played very well. Skipp lost possession a few times but played well. They were all composed. But I'm another dissenting voice as to why Kane had to come on. It was evident that Tranmere were getting a bit physical in the last quarter so why risk it. Shame Aurier didn't get a hat trick but that would have been unfair on Llorente.
