As things stand it makes a lot of sense. A bit of competition for his place may be what Walker (excellent last year, inconsistent this season) needs to re-focus on his game. Also, while maybe denying us as effective an overlap on the right, it gives us a massive aerial threat at set-pieces and a highly combative back four. I would not drop Verts or Dawson on current form, Jan picks himself and Dawson's qualities as a leader are vital at this stage. A fit Kaboul though, brings more to the party than Walker right now.
A tough one to call. Bale was definitely out of sorts for Wales this week but may have recovered from his virus, who knows. If Spurs play well you'll win this one but we've got a good record at home, and like some have pointed out we were unlucky in the earlier fixture at your place. I enjoy watching Spurs and still think you'll get CL. Hope we beat you on Saturday though - we need to keep some momentum going and for a small cub like ours every place means a lot (about £800,000 I think). Oh, and ignore musty's ridiculous 'crock Bale' comment earlier which most Swans would condemn. It's cringeworthy that one of our mods makes a comment like that. He's a plastic living in Oz and has never even been to Swansea. I short, he hasn't got a ****ing clue. Good luck after today
If we play with wing backs it could be... Kaboul Dawson Vertonghen Walker Holtby Sandro Dembele Bale NEW STRIKER
Where's Lennon in that lineup? ------------------ In terms of today's match, word on the street is that Lloris has got a groin injury and so Bruce Willis will be in goal.
Lloris tweaked his knee in training and was rated doubtful yesterday when the squad travelled to Swansea. I do know Jordan Archer has travelled as possible back up.
Friedel, Walker, Vertonghen, Dawson, Naughton, Dembele, Parker, Lennon, Sigurdsson, Bale & Adebayor. Bench: Archer, Caulker, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Livermore, Holtby & Defoe. Good to see Lennon and Dawson back, but no Lloris and Naughton at left-back. Not good.
Unless Benny has come back from international duty tired or carrying a knock, then playing Naughton is bizarre. Lloris missing is also not a good omen. All in all, I am not hopeful about today.....
Yeah, you'd have thought so, Relayer. Who knows what the travel arrangements were like, though. Could've picked up a knock or something, too. Strange decision if he's fit. Don't think that Villas-Boas is that impressed with him, though.
It'll be interesting to see how many changes we make on Thursday. Dempsey, Defoe and Holtby will all be desperate to play, especially as the American doesn't even make the bench today. Too much travelling again, I suspect.
Sorry lads but I think Michu is going to stick a couple past us and we'll end up losing. Hopefully I'll be wrong.
