I don't think that we can expect QPR to do us any favours against the gooners on Saturday so a win is vital and I hope that Chelsea have a CL hangover.
Yid Vicous - You won't hear it - it is the third verse and we only sing the first!! The verse is about our victory at White Hart Lane in the League Cup (3-1) at the Lane after a 2-2 draw at Swansea where Ozzy Ardiles and Ricardo Villa played (Ozzy was decked by Tommy Smith after about 5 secs). For some reason I was in the Tottenham end that day!! Looking forward to a great game and a great occasion in London on Sunday - will be travelling up on the supporters buses so an 8.30 start which isn't too bad! Regarding songs, the one that stuck out at The Liberty for me was when the Spurs fans started singing "Oh When the Spurs, go marching in" at a really slow pace and the swans fans replied with "Oh Engerland, is full of sh*t" at exactly the same pace - tickled my humour and there could be plenty of that on Sunday!! Match result - I think Spurs are due a win and if they play well I can't see us beating them..
Haha, we love a good round of "oh when the Spurs". My Dad's from Sketty so I've been there a couple of times to see family and I can't help but think that Swansea's a bit **** too Anyway, enjoy your trip. Hopefully you won't enjoy the game too much!
QPR have to get Barton back in for this one and play him through the middle. He'll cause Arsenal no end of trouble, merely because they absolutely hate him!
Tomorrow will be a good test to see if we've ended our bad run. Swansea are a hard team to play, home or away (home more so however). With Lennon back, I'm sure we'll have our 'true' first XI out (maybe a change in defence if King is unavailable but apart from that...). We need the win, Villa won't hold up Chelsea and I can't see QPR slowing Arsenal down. Let's hope we can get it!
PGF, what bus you on mate? I'm on number 11. Yid, can't argue with you really, Swansea is certainly no Paris. Sketty's not the best but go a bit further and West Cross and the Gower's ok. Any decent watering holes close by to the ground lads ? Last time I was up there must have been about 20 years ago and we lost 5-1 (surprise surprise) and all I remember there was a caff called Jacks up the road, very apt indeed !!
I wasn't being too serious, just reacting to the "England is full of ****" chant PGF mentioned. I don't think there is an away pub near the ground, to be honest. Does the coach actually take you to Tottenham or do you get dropped somewhere in central?
Yid, usually we have to park up by the ground. At Fulham we walked for 5 mins and found a pub that was happy to have us. At your neighbours, there was nowhere close by but they did set up a drinking area outside the away fans entrance for us. At Chelski it was a complete dead loss, we couldn't have a pint anywhere because the police stopped the locals serving us. Why ? Because bloody Cardiff played them in the cup and caused trouble (again) and we got tarted with the same brush (we are nothing like them). Hoping for a pint in Tottenham to say the least but they don't half make it difficult in London, and who do we have away next after you ? QPR !!
Depends how ur travelling, assuming car, if you're part of a coachful, forget it, you'll need to go to where our shop is and have it on your left, you basically walk back down the High Road about 5mins, on the other side of the road look out for a pub called the Elbow Rooms, they let quiet, small groups of away fans in (no songs, don't take the piss!), when you see the size of the landlord, you'll see why there's no berks in there from either side! Nothing fancy, just a reasonable pint.
Kaboul and Gallas at the back do we reckon today? King might be able to play but I think we should rest him and whilst Nelsen's not really done anything wrong, I still think we go for Gallas.
Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Sandro, Parker, van der Vaart, Modric, Bale, Adebayor. Cudicini, Nelsen, Lennon, Rose, Livermore, Saha, Defoe. No surprises.
I'd have thought it was a 4-2-3-1 with Bale, Modric and van der Vaart lining up left to right in the three, CS.
