I'd like to say that was a fair result... but I can't help but feel disappointed again. Spurs must learn to put lesser teams away. it was always going to be a struggle at 2-1. Pochettino please note., 'Titty-Tappy, Scritti-Politti football when you're holding a slender lead is tantamount to suicide, especial when away from home.' Pochettino are you listening, take note, because I would've thought you'd be quite conscious of this fact, given your results at Southampton. 3 points dropped, 1 gained. Poor, given the depth and quality within the squad.
Rose dived twice by my count. Ade should have been awarded at least one pen. I’ll have to look at a possible second or third on replay to be sure. The ref was awful. We’ve had two straight games where we had 62% of the ball, lost one 3-0 and drew the other 2-2, in a game where our opponents only had one shot on target. If the game was only played in the middle of the park, we’d be fabulous. It’s the area around both goals where we have problems.
I wanted Kane for Ade at half time but didn't want the result that Kane produced. Poyet said that a nicked win would have been unfair on Spurs and that their three points will soon come, he's right on both counts. A match we should have won at a very difficult ground is why my glass is half full rwaeb. Let's just like Sunderland get that win.
Cheers, Thor, let’s hope you’re right. In any case, the football is certainly worth watching.
For me we still lack a striker and a leader, somebody tough who isn't afraid to bark at the players and make himself unpopular.
Adebayor is the type of striker we need (in terms of ability) yet he is a reaction player. He had that fantastic season under Redknapp where Redknapp signed him while receiving criticism form fans due to his background with the goons and that allowed Adebayor to play as if he was going to show his ability shouldn't be doubted (even if the fans disliked him), plus playing in a system which suited his game with VDV in support. Last year he again had a point to prove (when recalled by Sherwood), fired up for each game and thriving as the leader, main goal scorer and again out to prove a point, you could see how much he was enjoying his football, plus striking up a neat partnership with Eriksen where they added much needed end product. Now he is falling back into the trap of playing each week, no real urgency to prove anyone wrong, just going through the motions and thats when we see Adebayor return to playing as someone who doesn't show his true ability. Hopefully next week against West Brom at home he can find his form in front of goal as we know its easily said, yet having a striker in form gives the entire team more confidence, knowing there is someone up top, that can be relied on to finish chances.
WBA can be difficult for us at times so we mustn't take them lightly. I'd like to see Ade score against the top teams and not just the bottom ones but I don't think he's up to it. I'd like a solid 2-0 win against Albion as I think a win will set us rolling again. Anything more than 2-0 will be a bonus, anything less will mean we are struggling.

I have said this time and time and time again... We...have...no...strikers! Kane is simply NOT a Prem-grade striker (please stop suggesting that he'll "develop" into one - no, he won't), and Ade keeps on proving, over and over, why every club he's been at (except ours) has been glad to see the back of him. As for that Spanish bloke... well, he's not referred to as LOLdado for nothing. Why have our fans not turned en masse against Levy over this, bearing in mind that this is our third straight season that we have been deficient in this area? It beggars belief.
I've been saying pretty much the same thing. It's a glaring deficit in our squad. Ade is the only class striker we have, when he can be arsed. I keep hoping Soldado will do SOMETHING, but there has to be a reason a Pochettino doesn't start him - apart from his recent injury. As for Kane, a tryer, but never going to be true class, IMO.
We were lucky to get a point yesterday, although if Buckley had scored with his shot towards the end we could have done a smash and grab and got all three. We played with two wingers you played without wingers as a result you crowded out midfield and we could not stop you playing through the midfield, you hit the woodwork a couple of times but you are missing a finisher if you want to get into Champions League. The ref lost the plot completely, I think that was his first time at the SoL...he did not have a clue, in the added time he gave you two free kicks near our penalty area that never were free kicks, then almost bottled giving a yellow to Brown for a definite foul. It was rather unedifying seeing spuds players crowding round the ref trying to get Brown sent off, I thought refs were supposed to give yellows for that sort of thing. Last season we would have lost this fixture..we are getting better...you have stayed the same..Lallmina (spelling?) whatever you paid for him he is not worth is, he just tries to be Ashely Young diving all over the place and the ref just ignored him. Hope you get a ground sorted out (my inlaws are spuds supporters and I have been to WHL many times(
No, I don't like to see players trying to get another sent off or crowding the ref for anything. I'll say again a player sent off is no real gain to the other club after all earlier in the season Hull almost won with 10 men.
Apparently we tried to put the Spaniard on the ferry back to Spain. Alas, no other club wanted him in his present guise. Seems we're lumbered for another 4 months, at least.
Very harsh result on us yesterday, we were by the far the better team and but for two shocking bits of defending we'd have come away with an impressive 3 points against a solid and improving Sunderland side. We were great on the eye and Lamela and Dembele were so unlucky with their shots hitting the bar. I didn't realise until yesterday morning that Ade had only got back from Africa roughly 24 hours before the match and it showed in his performance. Very sluggish and he was struggling long before Kane came on for the final 15. Chadli (hi Boss ) is finding his Twente goal scoring form, Eriksen had his best game of the season so far and Lamela continues to grow in confidence. Dembele was great though still lacks that killer cutting edge. The football for the most part was a joy to behold and long may that continue/ improve but unfortunately it was just the defence that let us down. I felt Hugo could've done a lot better for the first, I appreciate it took a deflection but it didn't radically change direction and I think Hugo should've got a hand to it, Rose could've also reacted quicker. The second didn't need to happen, defenders should know that when a team is desperate for a goal and running the wing, the slightest bit of contact will cause them to go to ground and Sunderland did exactly that, Gomez is an expert set-piece specialist and the moment he stepped up you knew something bad was going to happen, especially as by then we had numerous chances to put the game to bed, Kane was just the unfortunate sod standing in the wrong position with his view blocked by the speedy cross. Someone did make me laugh a little on Twitter though, "Sunderland only managed 1 shot on target yet managed a 2-2 draw", a typical "Spursy" situation. Disappointing result considering the way we played but enough positives to take from it.
"Interesting" editing on Match of the Day's version of the game: Made it look pretty even, which takes some doing.
What was actually 'unedifying' was the scissor tackle assault by Brown on Lamela that caused the reaction: it was a potential leg-breaker and I thought was one of the potentially dangerous fouls that was identified as a sending off offence. The Spurs players reaction to fouls during the match - and there were numerous on Lamela - was muted to say the least and therefore suggests that any apparent over-reaction was actually a genuine response to what they perceived to be a particularly bad foul. thanks for the general comments - although maybe best to limit the 'Spuds' references if you want to appear genuine.....
Just thought I should make a special mention regarding Chadli, a player I said two years ago we should have signed so when he was purchased, out of the 7 signings, he was the one with the most potential and now we're finally seeing him produce goals.
Very happy with a point, you were by far the better team. Shocking refereeing all round. My word you look a very good outfit. Really enjoyed watching you play. Keep that up you'll be title contenders. Chatted to a few Spurs fans outside the stadium after the game and they were very nice, polite with that cheeky cockney humor. Welcome visitors and a credit to your club. Good luck with the rest of the season lads.
