Should have scored but in fairness to the lad, he laid on the pass for Mason's goal earlier. He's made a difference in terms of getting the ball forward quicker. Perhaps, just perhaps we need to give him a chance.

Has the feel of exactly two years ago, does it not.
    Season one : manager has a "philosophy/system" .
Season two : WTF is it exactly ??

We're trying to run down the clock and Chadli does that. <doh>

Well that nicely summed up Chadli's day

Just Chadli in general. He's greedy, but doesn't have the right to be. And usually wasteful.

1-0 FT. Worst performance of the season and our first win. Spursy.

Awful first half, much better second half, though it was still far from great.
Townsend did very well when he came on and Sunderland ran out of steam, which let us nick it, for me.
We'll need to be much better than that in the next couple of league games.

With us winning, I'm glad I'm sat down otherwise I might have fainted

  13. I should feel elated, but I don't. Yes, I'm glad we won, but the win has papered over some massive gaps, and I have no confidence that Poch is a competent enough painter and decorator.

Got there in the end. Not pretty but we out ran Sunderland and tired them out. Once Lamela and Townsend came on they turned the game in our favour and caused plenty of problems. Good subs from Pochettino.

Disappointing that for the majority of the game our final ball was really poor and every shot we had seemed to be blocked. Then after the goal came we missed a load of great chances to put the game to bed. First win of the season though and the result was always going to be the most important thing for us today. Hopefully this'll give the players a boost.

With the fixtures to come, Pochettino could be done and dusted by October.

So you all agreed we had no creativity and no plan B and then we get a brilliant goal from a move through the middle. We win a tough match 1-0 missing our most creative player and people conclude that Pochettino is out of his depth. Presumably that's because he is playing Dier out of position.

  18. When Sunderland trounce United, perhaps we will find that, in fact, this was a superb result?

  19. Relying on one moment of skill over the entire match - a piece of skill that may or may not have come - is hardly any kind of endorsement on our manager!

really pleased Dier got man of the match...was excellent all match

Mason's goal was excellent and it was good to see Townsend make a positive impact.

Think we rode our luck though but were unlucky in our last match v Everton and v United so deserved a bit
