Since we wouldn't pay Villa £30m+ when AVB insisted on Soldado, the bloke's career trajectory has gone downwards at 90 degrees to cries of "Brace, brace, brace". Today represents impact with rocky ground.

Palace are paying him more than we pay Harry Kane. He moved to Palace but he insisted upon staying on Liverpool money. He thrives on crosses and would have been perfect when we had Bale and Lennon. Now? I'd give him a miss.

Stoke don't mind being turned over by clubs
operating on a good financial model, with a polite
manager whose teams also play good football.

Also, for the Goon lurkers, here's one of those STATS you seem to be so keen on...
Spurs have beaten Stoke by a four goal margin in each of their last four games

Great performance. Much more like it, even though we were still pretty wasteful. Had Kane to get a hattrick so I'm pissed off he decided to continue his run of braces rather than hattricks, useless bastard :D

It would be nice to get a decent ref at some point too, East should have been kept in the Championship, he's useless.

Have to say he has a great sense of humour and is always smiling which is the least I expect from someone who is paid £50k a week to kick a ball.

Reminds me a lot of Benny, only he's crap at football.

I thought Dembele was an absolute bully against Stoke.Long may it continue.........and then they bring on Sisoko. I'm sorry(?) but can't someone take him off our hands? I don't know if Sisoko has lost confidence since we bought him, but, come on,Sisoko is a joke!

Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that the fans need to raise the atmosphere as it was flat in the early stages. This is pretty new territory as we're usually very vocal. He should have been on this thread as it was pretty lively with lots of singing. I don't get going to games and staying silent

The Brighton game should be better as I'm going to that one and my perforated ear drum's all better now, so I can shout and sing at full volume and as it's my daughter's birthday, we're going Club Wembley and I get a cup holder. I can't wait.

Yes, the coffee in Club Wembley is very expensive but necessary on a cold night.

I thought Sissoko did really well when he came on. Can't read too much into it as Stoke were long gone but he skinned the full back half a dozen times, showed good link up play and put in some decent crosses.

But in general I agree, with Lamela back I hope we start to see less of him.

    Sky's Player Ratings...........

    Tottenham: Lloris (5); Trippier (7), Dier (6), Vertonghen (6), Davies (7); Winks (7), Dembele (7); Eriksen (7), Alli (7), Son (9); Kane (8).

    Subs: Lamela (6), Sissoko (6), Llorente (6).

    Stoke: Tottenham: Butland (6); Edwards (5), Zouma (6), Shawcross (6), Wimmer (6), Pieters (5); Fletcher (6), Allen (6); Diouf (6), Choupo-Moting (6), Shaqiri (6).

    Subs: Crouch (6), Cameron (6), Afellay (6).

So, Zouma, Shawcross and Wimmer got the same scores as Dier and Vertonghen?

    Really?

    Excellent.

Sisoko did nothing for me but what was impressive were Dier and Jan......and with 3 center halves out injured. Are they our defence next week?

Despite Eriksens poor form recently, I actually thought he was one of our best yesterday. Deserved higher than a 7 IMO.
