    For those with calculators...

If we hold on, all we need is for Wigan, Newcastle, Norwich, Sunderland, Villa and Southampton to win their remaining games and Stoke will be gone!

Why do our defenders continue to keep the ball in when clearing down the line? Surly row Z is better.

    Greedy there, from Bale.
    And it's over.

    Mon the Wigan!

So we take the lead then play like this? Invite Stoke to attack us when we have the 1 man advantage.

3 points but it was pathetic.

Huge win - at Stoke as well.

Didn't think we'd get much more than a point so I'm well chuffed.

Puts all the pressure back on Arsenal now

  10. Disagree. We were playing like a team that knows it desperately needed the win.

If you think this game was nervy, just wait till we play Sunderland!

Whatever happens that is now 69 equalling last years total. If we beat Sunderland and miss out on top 4 we can count ourselves very unlucky. In our last 7 games we have won 4 and drawn 3. As long as we beat Sunderland no one can say we bottled it this time.

The BBC stats say we got 54% possession - surely that can't be right?

Only one point Moorpheus? Who said 1-2 ay? Come on who said 1-2? I said 1-2 didni? If we finish fourth then we match last season which isn't bad in AVB's first yonk here.

This - there was a thing on talkSPORT this week where Durham was asking 'has this season been a failure if Spurs finish 5th?'

With a new manager (who, for the first 2 months had the fans and the media watching him like a hawk, waiting for him to slip up), signings not really being up to those who left the club (Dempsey in, Van der Vaart out) and crucial injuries to first team players, we've still managed to equal last season's points total - 1 game early to boot.

Yes we may finish 5th - and yes I realise the difference between 4th and 5th is huge but even so, I don't think I'd put this season down as a failure (provided we keep Bale over Summer).

I think it was the most popular prediction. I said it and I think about 20 other people did, too! <laugh>

Ok smart arse. Now Sunderland drew at home with Stoke 1-1 and we've just beaten Stoke. Now often Spurs eff up this sort of tripod by losing the third match ie this time Sunderland. I'm still nervy.

Well in Spurs! Really routing for you for 4th. Hate, hate, hate Stoke. What is the point in them? Pulis is a disgrace to football. Hope Arsenal slip up against either Wigan or Newcastle. Want Wigan to go down mind, Norwich are a nice club and would like to see them stay up. 1 - 0 Norwich.

Sky has it down as 67.3% to 32.7% in our favour. Sounds about right.

That's right Moorpheus. It will be very disappointing to lose out on 4th but you would have to give Arsenal credit if they win the next 2 games. That would be an unbelievable run. It's strange they hit championship winning form as soon as they have nothing left to win! As has been mentioned before we are 4th in the form table the problem is Arsenal, Chelsea and City are the top 3!
