What do you make of uniteds game being off cos united players have covid? Do you still think they should have scraped 13 players together rather than getting it called off cos the the players they wanted weren't available? Asking for a friend
The league fixtures around it can be rescheduled for a later date The Season Killer Cup match has to played that week, as the (first leg of the) semis take place a couple of weeks later So yes, I'm saying that pointless joke of a competition is responsible for the issues with that other pointless joke of a competition
I believe (please correct me if wrong) that up to now all clubs have announced how many Covid cases they have (without mentioning any names) whenever they have positive tests. So why is this not the case with Man U? Also, as we discovered with the manager epic, the so-called sports journalists and media never stop talking about them and yet I haven't heard anyone mention that Man U haven't declared how many have Covid. It wouldn't take long to say that. Unless I missed it which is very possible. Main conclusion: different rules for Man U. But again, I could just have missed a few things.
I think all this past international crap has screwed up the season for us and others.....unless your Man City and have bought 3 teams. Although, come to think of it, the captains of Spurs and Rennes could spin a coin and the winners go through........?.......or even.... stone,paper,scissors...........?
I would be absolutely shocked if we couldn't scrape a full team and bench together never mind 13. My feelings about this are they same as they are for your team. I don't do two faced.
So 13 from a squad of (25?) including 2 keepers, that would mean 12 had COVID which seems a lot at one time. Like i said to RCL, i feel exactly the same way about us getting a game postponed and would like to know the actual reason, lack of players or H&S.
13 available players from our squad of 22, judging by this: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaconferenceleague/clubs/1652--tottenham/squad/ Romero is injured and Sessegnon's suspended, so it would take 8 cases, I think.
Wasn't sure of the squad size for Europe which is why i put it in brackets with a QM. Gets closer to understandable in that case, would still like to know the numbers for us.
So it's clear that we've done everything that we can and Rennes haven't. Kick them out. Don't punish one of two teams that are trying to do things properly.
Surely it makes sense to award us a 3-0 win and dock them three points? So, with that out of the way, what would UEFA do instead?
What will the PL and UEFA do when the other teams all come down with covid.Cancel the competitions 'til next season?
That's the one thing that won't happen. UEFA didn't postpone the Rennes game, Spurs did. They were quite happy for the game to be played. Sod Covid, the players, officials, everyone but the sponsors and TV.
Interesting that we've offered to play in France...and Rennes refused. Kind of adds to their classless behaviour over this. Hope their season implodes tbh
