Unbelievable bit of quality. It’s not even like we didn’t try and stop it, Perisic tried to snap him in half and he just danced around it. Lloris got a bit lucky with the save too.

That would’ve been a world class goal by Edwards at the death there. He’s been playing really well too, showing why it was a huge mistake letting him go. Overall it’s been an even game. We’re better than we were last Wednesday albeit that wouldn’t have been hard, still a lot of improvement needed. Kane’s passing has been iffy and Son is yet again making it feel like we’re playing with 10 men. Richarlison needs to work on being onside.
Its funny because I was suggesting that these stats usually come to and end against us so expecting a sporting win, and I have seen nothing so far to change my mind. That Edwards lad looks good, wonder where he came from, so unlucky not to score he'll get more chances for sure.

Our most urgent problem is still the WBs. Perisic has quality but hasn't got the pace anymore to take defenders on and also looks like he'll need a while to integrate with his team mates. I noticed the same thing at the Marseille game and I'd wager it's one of numerous factors in Son's dip (chasm) in form: the link up play down that flank is largely nonexistent. Meanwhile down the other flank Emerson is excellent defensively but is too often a possession back hole. He made one attempt to take on his man and put it a cross and funnily enough whipped in the most dangerous ball of the game so far. No idea why he doesn't try it more often. Also no idea what Kulu has done to deserve to be dropped to the bench but if we're waiting for Son to play himself back into form, we could be on the equivalent of an NHS waiting list.
Son is trying way too hard. Body language is all wrong - so tense and snapping at everything. No fluency to his game and it's painful to watch. He desperately needs a goal. Could deflect in off his arse for all I care, he needs a goal.
