The rules should be changed to allow the disallowed Kane goal. I have no problem with attacking teams being given the benefit of "hairs width" offside. I expect VAR to correct blatantly incorrect decisions that are made in real time due to officials positioning or incompetence.
Nice to see Son and Lloris happy together. Also good to see everyone getting on well with Walker-Peters. I get the feeling that Kane was genuinely surprised that it's Son's first hat-trick for Spurs, too. Has been a long time coming. That takes him up to 10 goals in 9 appearances against Southampton. Kane has 10 in 13.
Hopefully they had their "moment" before the clip starts as KWP would have been his usual two yards behind him at the final whistle. Can't imagine Sonny blanking anyone.
Completely forgot about this... please log in to view this image * Okay, that genuinely hurt my eyes to look at... * Did nobody tell the rest of our team that Lucas was on the pitch? * Equally damning is Lamela being the most progressive carrier, given he came on with half an hour to go * All in all our right flank is a mess: Moura never received the ball, while Doherty was far less progressive than Davies - which is the opposite of what should be happening * Kane being isolated, yet still receiving the ball more than Moura, is pretty weird to get my head around * The good sign is there were plenty of players making themselves available for the pass: Doherty, Hojbjerg, Winks, Ndombele and Davies all being useful out balls is what ultimately got us around Southampton's press * The reason Hojbjerg/Winks looks like a venn diagram is because the two switched positions at half time...I hope * Our left back was our most central player. Read that again In comparison, look at the Everton pass map (yes, I'm showing off now) please log in to view this image In this one Doherty is more progressive as we need him to be, while the Winks/Hojbjerg pairing are once again useful outlets for players to move the ball onto - but the issue is that the play stopped dead in central midfield meaning that Kane and Dele both ended up dropping deep even though Kane was isolated and Dele wasn't receiving any passes Ultimately the difference between the Everton and Southampton results boils down to one thing: against Everton we didn't have a progressive midfielder and that's what cut off our play from midfield to attack - but against Southampton we did, and it really shows considering Ndombele was available for passes higher up the pitch that meant we had something pushing back against Southampton's press (or smashing through it, as happened for our equaliser) with Lo Celso playing in the same role in the second half, and that's what saw us ultimately break them down over and over again
