Glad I couldn't watch the first 80 mins of this, we've looked decent since I turned on.

    Get in Gareth.

I'll tell you what, if we make CL we'll be the 2nd least deserving team from England to make it, after Chelsea last year

Well a win is a win for you lot but if you don't get top 4 and Bale ****s off then you'll be in trouble next season because there is no way you would be where you are now if you didn't have him.

Chelsea v Spurs on Wednesday... Just wow...

    ahh you're back spurm! <laugh>

I have to agree with you. Still, if we qualify at the expense of Chelsea, it'll be justice for last year. Karma is a bitch. who knows eh?

Harsh. These are the games we usually blow out in. Late goals count just the same as early ones, I'd rather that than 70 plus minutes trying to defend a lead.

Caught final score as the goal went in and came back. Me giving up usually does the trick, I'm world class

Lucky, lucky, lucky. We were awful today and a bit of magic from that man again saved our arses. A word of mention for Lloris... that save was massive in the game. Great goalkeeping today. Only one of a handful of players who turned up. Still unconvinced we'll make top 4.

Get the cheque book out Levy... we need reinforcements!

Great result, but an awful performance for over an hour. Really got everything wrong from the start and I think it's time to end the Tom Huddlestone experiment.
Lennon and Dembele definitely weren't anywhere near fit and I don't think that Defoe or Bale were, either. Poor decision to start them all.
Southampton can be disappointed to come away with nothing, as they were the better side for most of the game. Didn't create that much, but we created nothing.
Baled out, if you'll pardon the awful pun.

Another dire game for Clattenburg, though. The invisible push by Defoe was bizarre and Bale's pretty obvious penalty claim didn't look good for the twat in black, either.
Can't say that I'm surprised by us not getting a penalty at WHL, of course, as we all know the score with that.

Why why why do people feel the need to be so negative!!!

Are we less deserving than ManC or Chelski who have had vast amounts of cash thrown at them? Are we less deserving than Arsenal who have had loads of refereeing decisions go there way. So please tell me why they deserve it more than us. Go on I dare you.

Besides all that we could have had a pen and Defoe was clean through when stopped by bizarre refereeing. So yeah, we were awful and Saints didn't deserve to loose, but saying we don't deserve this is a completely different matter.

Lets hope agents Jenas and Townsend will have a successful mission today.

Absolutely. Really, without Bale, this is one of the most toothless Spurs teams in recent years. And there have been a LOT of performances like that this year.

And we wonder why people think we're a one-man team.

AVB is one lucky sod. And long may it continue (I think).

Good game lads, there are two constants with Saints - we think games last 80 minutes and if there is an ex-Saints player on the other team, he'll score!

Good luck claiming fourth, and good luck keeping hold of Bale (I couldn't hack it if he left for £60m to Real or some such, considering you bought out our 25% sell-on clause for a few quid and a mars bar).

Totally undeserved, another terrible performance. We'll have to be a lot better than that against Chelsea if we're going to get anything from that game.

Massive 3 points though and it was always going to be a tough game, Southampton are a good side and Clattenburg was doing his utmost to give everything against Tottenham, another clear penalty turned down today.

We can relax and enjoy the rest of the sunny afternoon now :)

There has been quite a few close run things at WHL when Saints come so that's a fairly average sort of result. I just bloody hope we improve for the next match though. 1-0 with such a late goal? I'd say that if it was City or Chelsea who did that then they're not on good form and being a fair man I'm saying the same about us.

Cheers, Mikey. You deserved at least a draw out of that game, but at least things have been looking up for you recently. Big game coming up next, though. Good luck. <ok>

Ok I will. Because in quite a few games the performances have been dire, even if we have picked up points. Just look at the last few, city/Wigan/saints, as an example. We maybe managed 15mins decent football in 270mins.
How many games have we won by more than 1? Not many, city, erm....
While goal difference isn't the be all and end all it does tell a tale, look at those around us compared to us
