It’s Antwerp it’s not Bayern Munich! whatever subs and formation that Mourinho chooses we should easily have enough. IMO This is all on the players and a **** attitude
It was the same against Burnley though, the opposition is irrelevant for me, it’s how we’ve approached the game that I’m annoyed at. The tactics and sub choices have been poor, the only difference is that Antwerp can actually attack, Burnley can’t as evidenced by only scoring three league goals and it needed Kane to bail us out on Monday. At 1-0 down today we took off our striker. Our midfield is also less creative by taking Lo Celso off. We can’t just look at Antwerp and expect a 3-0 win, these are top of the Belgian league.
They've got about 8 players packed in the middle and we're trying to tippy-tap it through them all. Ridiculous.
I agree with you, we were terrible against Burnley as well and got lucky. We play good football in patches but nothing that convinces me we can sustain a top four challenge.
The last two games there’s just been zero logic to our play in my opinion. With the riches we have in attack and midfield, it has to rest with the manager if you can’t get a tune out of it. Leaving Ndombele out of the squad is also a poor choice. No problem with benching him but as I’ve said time and time again if you’re taking one of Lo Celso/ Ndombele off, the other needs to replace them or already be on the pitch. More or less everyone can see how pointless and **** Winks is whether they want to openly admit or not and leaving him on does nothing for us. Taking off Vinicius as well made no sense, Kane should’ve been straight on for him directly or should be joining him in attack, we’re 1-0 down... Players need a rocket up their arses but Jose ain’t blameless either.
