We got to the point a while back when defenders are criticized for allowing players the chance to dive. As you say - not even a mention of how there was no contact that made the player go down. This growing and growing and growing acceptance of diving has to stop. It's making football a laughing stock. Watch a game with someone who follows any other sport but doesn't usually watch football. It's an embarrassment.
Remember the good old days when "There's was contact" somehow became a justification for a foul being given and a dive being tolerated? We're well past that now.
Having said all that: Aurier does not seem to be a man hell-bent on challenging his reputation as being a hot-head does he?
APOEL holding Dortmund. It would be nice if they managed to do it for the whole game. We struggled over there, despite the flattering scoreline.
He goes to ground too often. You could see it on his highlights videos, bizarrely. Hopefully Pochettino will train that out of him and improve that aspect of his game.
