it genuinely surprises me that we don’t see more of an overlap routine between those two. Neither are slouches…
Regardless of the result tonight, we've also managed to find a way of tiring the players out again before Sunday
Only reason we’re still winning is Qarabag’s wastefulness/ lack of quality in the box. Can’t see it holding out though, eventually something will click. Gonna have to hope the forwards can bag another or two.
clearly Romero and VDV are favs. I’m sure that limited our pool of players who were willing to sit on the bench, but also had some sort of senior experience. That’s what my original point was. The line is so dangerous, it makes any half decent player vulnerable. Except for VDV who’s blessed with the pace of an Olympic sprinter.
Son seldom looks for him on the overlap and then plays the ball back which means Udogie is out of position. With 11 that can be covered but with 10 less so.
What has happened to Sarr, everytime he gets it you’re on edge! Bissouma excellent, gray excellent except when he ran the ball out of play for a corner. Solanke, excellent.
Agree, but we are putting those last defenders in vulnerable positions by our play. Not excusing either, and especially Dragusin, but we don't need to take so many chances.
Gray has been good, but looks done in. We need Porro on soon. And one of his worldies wouldn't go amiss.
Can I ask what does Sarr actually do? I fail to see what he brings to the party, don't get me wrong he is neat and tidy and gets up and down but he rarely contributes a pass the creates anything or a tackle that breaks up an attack, think he should have been sactificed rather than Bergvall.
He's made a number of good interceptions and tackles, but once he has the ball he rarely knows what to do with it. Bissouma has covered every blade of grass, I've been critical of him in the past but this is exactly the performance we signed him for.
Some think the European games will give the players momentum but I’m with you. This squad isn’t good enough or big enough to compete on multiple fronts with the current style of play, it’s too tiring.
