totally agree with this. I’ve been quite impressed with him in the last 3 games, after feeling much different prior. If he can use his pace better and also work on the final more being a bit more accurate, he’ll be a good player for us. Just need consistency though. I get the feeling that he’s a confidence player, and when it’s low (as I suspect it has been) it massively affects him. He’s been completely different since scoring that first goal a week ago,
He definitely frustrates me because I’ve often felt the ingredients are there for him to be a top player but mentally he just seems to lack the intent to use it, similar vibes to Ryan Sessegnon. Can’t knock his finishing though, it’s been top tier lately and even last season he had a knack of finding good positions. It’s like out of possession he’s a 9/10 but in possession he’s a 2/10, if he boosts the latter he’ll be some player. Hopefully he keeps his insta deleted though, been far better since going off of social media. If he comes back on we need to get people to abuse him again, I’ll send him a death threat, you threaten to kebab his dog (if he has one), someone else can tell him they’ll share his address with Gemma Collins.
I would say the opposite, a physical injury would keep him away, mental health issues may helped by physical exercise. Doesn't mean he's ready for the first team necessarily.
