Danjuma been on the pitch 15 mins and he’s already better than Richarlison. Only needs one more goal for us to match Richarlison’s tally for the season too.
Skipp been superb since coming on. Shame we won’t see him for another month or so, might get a 5 minute cameo somewhere I suppose.
Bryan and Danjuma actually running at Preston Ah yes, now I figured out what was missing for most of the previous 70+ minutes...
Never looked like scoring but beaten by a world class strike, good luck for the rest of the season https://www.not606.com/threads/tottenham-hotspur-deepdale-28-1-23.404922/
I do hate how depressingly predictable it is. Just as I said a couple weeks back about Sarr and that’d I’d still loan him out despite his impressive performances as I knew he wouldn’t keep his spot, since then he’s not been in the matchday squad(s). Gil went from a MOTM display vs Portsmouth to 5 min cameos the moment Richarlison was fit, he probably wouldn’t have gotten on the pitch last night if Richarlison didn’t miss the game. Commentator even said Skipp wasn’t initially meant to come on, it was gonna be Hojbjerg but because Son hit his second, Skipp got the call. Conte’s proving it doesn’t matter if you impress, if you’re young, you’re dropped the moment someone older is fit.
I haven't seen a pass map yet to confirm, but was Perisic playing as a striker? It looked a lot like that to me and he was far more comfortable further up the pitch.
There was definitely a couple of moments in the first half where I noticed Sonny popping up in the LWB spot, even though he was supposed to be the CF
Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but Sonny's brace meant he leapfrogged 1930's star striker George Hunt (perhaps Spurf, Maggie, Smithy or Alfie can tell us more about his exploits in front of goal ) and is now 7th in our all-time goal scorers list, 4 behind Defoe who he really should overtake comfortably this season. 20 goals behind our original Welsh Wizard, Cliff Jones.
I was tied up watching William The Conqueror coming up the beach at Hastings at the time, must have missed George.
Hopefully Cliff Jones will be there to see Son overtake his tally. I'm sure he'd appreciate it and he seems to be at quite a lot of the home games.
Why you young whippersnapper, go fetch a stout stick and I will give you a good thrashing while I recite the 61 and 62 fa cup winning teams at you
Son in a normal year would already be well clear of Defoe and within about 10 of Jones by this point in the season. Sadly this hasn't been a normal year for him.
