Jose accepted the job and said he doesn’t need new signings to make Spurs a decent side again. So far I’ve seen nothing from him that suggests that he will make Spurs finish top 4 or win any trophies. The style of football is horrible and the players don’t look like they know what they’re doing.

Most worryingly Jose is supposed to be best when he first comes into a club and then tails off, if this is as good as it gets then I’m seriously worried

He still ****ed up though in a way I very much doubt he was doing in training

In a matchday scenario individual mistakes can only be put on the individual...it's not tactics

Don't be silly! We'd already got one. In itself a rarity.

Dropping our best CB was tactics though.

Yesterday's line up was a disgrace?

He had everyone you have all been clamouring for a starting berth

We had injuries and suspensions too

You can't blame the manager for individual errors on the pitch

Unless we win, the formation is wrong seems to be the MO on here

    It's definitely the players

All our defenders have been average.

Sanchez hasn't been anything special. He's not even improving at the rate he should be and was long before Jose came in

Yes...but all of them together in a completely new 'formation' in an away game?

I've been advocating getting these players into the team on a structured basis. Last night's selection looked like he drew the names out of a hat and told them to make up the game plan for themselves.

For an experienced and successful manager, that selection and performance was a ****ing joke.

Yes, and I'd expect a manager, being paid what we're paying Mourinho, to set up a team to make the best of what we've got.

How is Aurier the first name on the team sheet?

How has he not cottoned on that Foyth isn't a central defender? Even Poch knew to play him at full back in the end. Despite never playing there before, he's our best option right now.

Why isn't Skippy being given an opportunity in midfield? Yes, he's young but he can run (Dier can't) and pass (Sissoko can't) and he's used to the pace of English football (Lo Celso and Ndombele aren't). Why continue to pick players whose limits are glaringly obvious and not give the kid a go?

Yes. We need upgrading right now and new full backs and combative midfielder who can run and pass are essential but...Mourinho needs to up his game too. What he's doing right now is seriously sub-standard

He's been leaps and bounds above every other defender this season. Without him we'd have lost a lot more games and conceded a lot more goals.

Not all in the same team, and for the first time in anger. :)

"We had injuries and suspensions too"

To players who are not delivering, in whatever formation Jose seeks to play.

"You can't the manager for individual errors on the pitch"

You can blame the manager for repeatedly selecting players who do so,
in a starting XI (it gives said players the air of indispensibility) .

"Unless we win the formation is wrong see to be the MO on here"

Apart from the Burnley game, and the 2nd half against Olympiakos,
the games won under Jose have left much to be desired (and had some
    good fortune in cases) .

    "It's definitely the players"

    Manager + players.

He has played for virtually the whole season as our only right sided defender, often covering for Aurier or KWP and even being deployed at right back himself a couple of times. He is not beyond criticism for sure, but compared to others I think he his doing his best and needs more help. We are so easy to run though at the moment it really is more like a 90s Spurs team than a 21st Century one.

From the BBC re today's Arsenal v Chelsea game...

"Chelsea, apart from one moment of danger from Willian and that shot from Mason Mount, just haven't got going. They look a pale shadow of the team that played superbly to win at Spurs."

Chelsea have been **** for weeks. The fact that we made them look good says far, far more about us than them.

The same is true of the Wolves, Brighton and Norwich matches.
Arsenal are as ****e as us yet look at them v Chelsea...that is all sbout hoew they are set up.
No one wants Maureen to fail but hw we have s right to point out his mistakes and at the moment there are expensive ones!

Remember, Jose is the "special one" .

He comes with a CV and reputation that means the expectation on him
from day 1 to turn things around quickly is high. Whether that
expectation is now unfair (which in itself begs other questions) is another story.

Artita set the Goons up with two DM’s in Torreira and Gonedozy ( or whatever his ****ing name is) it was working fine until the Chavs equalised and the Goons went looking for a winner, leaving the back door wide open.

We haven’t got one decent DM. If we did our defense wouldn’t come under so much pressure.

I don't blame him for the state we are in but some of his decisions have been mind numbingly stupid.
9 games inhe should havd played Winks with Sissoko end of story.
As for starting a team of strangers away to Norwich ... I am lost for words.

Overall I do think Jose’s done a lot right, he’s got us attacking again (barring the Chelsea clusterfuck) and overall despite the defence remaining shocking, we have looked marginally better than under Poch this season and the points gained under Jose somewhat prove it.

That said, it’s not wrong of fans to have expected more and better. His reputation is arguably the biggest in the game and he’s being paid a small fortune to turn primarily good players into winners. When you’re being paid what he is you have to expect big things. He failed miserably with his selection and tactics in his two biggest games - both against sides who man for man we have a better squad than.

The defence is still beyond a joke, bar Dave Sanchez no one has done themselves any justice. Aurier and Toby have been a disgrace and I wouldn’t lose any sleep if neither played for us again, whilst Jan can’t play LB on a regular basis, he’s too old for the role and not mobile enough, put him alongside Dave. I expected Jose to be able to sort it out though - how? I don’t know, but I’m not earning near £300k a week to do so - he managed to get a good number of clean sheets with Jones and Smalling so I find it difficult to accept he’s unable to make Toby look like a good player again or even make Aurier look remotely like an actual defender.

Hopefully he was lying when he joined as he said he felt we didn’t need any signings, because we absolutely do. If he chooses not to strengthen that back line then it’ll be a disaster for the club.

When you know that Dier and Sissoko is a disaster waiting to happen you should not be surprised with the ensuing carnage.

They've got more bad players than we have...but for 80+ minutes they competed.

So far, in our big games, we've yet to manage 8 minutes.

Mourinho's current test is to get more from less. Many managers manage it...let's see if he can?
