You're welcome mate. I've got a lot of time for NCFC. I used to live in Norwich and know from my time there, it's a well run and civilised football club.

    <ok>.

    We'll do that when you're gone <whistle>

One thing to keep in mind with Lambert is although he did well with you guys last season it was his squad and one he'd been working on for a couple of years so whilst you might consider avoiding relegation a minimum it'd actually represent a very good first season for Hughton.

Well said BS - some of my most memorable games have been lge Cup games - going back to 1969, I remember the incredible atmosphere of the Arsenal semi-final, especially when Greavesie scored, shame we lost, but boy did that game mean something. I've seen us in 4 finals, and every one meant so much to me. There was also the two incredible semi-finals in 71/72 v Chelsea, more recently I was at the 5-1 v Arsenal - fantastic stuff

And yep I was there in 72 when we lifted the UEFA Cup - great scenes as you say. Went to both legs of that - what a noise we made at the Wolves ground, as we had one whole end.

I thought in AVB we had a manager who wanted to revisit the glory days, but alas yesterday blotted his copybook big-time

I also have a bit of time for Spurs, my very first FA Cup Final was the Burnley v Spurs one 1962. I was 9.
My big sister was just starting her first job at Barnado's in Barkingside, we dropped her, my little sis and Mum off there, while my dad surprised me and my older brother with a trip to the cup final. Jimmy Greaves close up, wow, Danny Blanchflower, boy that was a team and a half. You won't need me to tell you that Spurs won 3-1, so my first Cup Final and Spurs was forever imprinted on my mind. As you can imagine, what a day that was for a 9 year old from the 'wilds of Norfolk'. I've been to the Lane many times sometimes to support Spurs and sometimes, when playing my team to support them, never had any bother there, good club and well liked by most in the football community. <ok> Going home now, thanks again.

Yes I remember the Cup Final of 1962 v Burnley.Only FA Cup Final I ever got to see.Would you believe I only got a ticket to that because I worked at that time at Hackney Wick Greyhound Stadium and all London dog tracks were allocated two tickets each for a room up behind the Royal Box(couldn't see 'em!).When Greavesey scored No.1 I jumped up yelling "Goal".Everyone else in that room looked at me as though I was crazy!!!!!
Many football fans in those days missed seeing their team because the tickets went to the wrong people! So I was darned lucky......
I got to see the Villa and Norwich League Cup Finals. Those tickets were easier to obtain.Lucky to beat Norwich though.A goal out of the blue by Ralphie Coates......and 2 by Cheeeeevvveeerrrss against Villa.
Oh!..and that bomb by Chivers at Wolves in the EUFA Cup Final.WOWWWW!

I think they had allowed a Horse Show take part on the football pitch at Wembley prior to the Arsenal v Swindon.....and Swindon won the League Cup 3-1 on the most awful pitch anyone had played on,short of Tottenham Marshes!
Those blooming horses had totally ruined the Wembley pitch. Took forever to return it to it's former glory.
Don Rodgers Man of the Match!

Oh!...and those League Cup semi's.I can just see Hudson taking a free kick outside the box and us waiting for "Nice One Cyril" Knowles to clear it.Well,he lifted his foot to clear it.....and the blooming ball went right under his boot....and Chelsea went to Wembley!
Gilzean was so ticked off,he refused to go to the reception and retorted with a few rude words!!!
I'm afraid I was calling Cyril a few things too!

Agreed. When he got the referee to give them the undeserved free kick that led to their goal he really annoyed me. And then when he decided to take (and miss) the penalty... disgraceful! Anyway, at least he didn't put that Lloris in goal!

Yep what a sickener that goal was. But the atmosphere that night, fantastic, you could cut it with a knife, when Pearcey hammered that goal in - whooosshh!
