He needs to say something different from the usual for me. If he says the usual then it will convince me even more that he’s not got the tactical ability for the upper levels of the PL. This isn’t the first time that Spurs have been dismantled this season. Defensively in particular has been shambolic and although the individual errors are the manager’s fault, the defending of set pieces is clear to see yet nothing changes.
You cannot be any % perfect in a system you are NOT playing. Spurs have NOT been playing Ange-ball for several weeks. They have been playing PORTU-ball.
I don't think it's on the players. This is down to coaching and management, to me. The selection and set-piece coaching weren't even remotely up to scratch. We've had plenty of warnings and yet nothing's changing.
4-0 FT. Disgusting. Not as disgusting as supporting a sportswashing dictatorship that hangs children, but still.
Agreed. Yes, he probably does not like calling players out in public but sometimes needs must. That Hojbjerg pass/shot at the end summed it up today. Horrific.
While I agree that the manager and coaching staff should also take the blame, the players are individually and collectively good enough to not lose 4-0 against a Newcastle team missing so many of their first choice players
We've been dreadful we didn't need the ref to favour them as well. The pen and I'm not sure about some of those yellows. We wouldn't have deserved it but pens change games. TNT didn't even look at the incident at half time.
Can we pray that they will be overconfident and this was just a plan to lull them into a false sense of security?
Nah I’m not blaming anything else but Ange and a weak minded set of players. Fair play to Newcastle, they totally had our number today.
The goals came from two things, though. 1. Two of our best players this season, van de Ven and Porro, making **** mistakes. 2. Our continual failure to defend set-pieces even half-decently. Not a lot you can do about the former. Plenty you can do about the latter.
I said when Ange was appointed I think we’d dish out some batterings as well as be on the end of some but those we’re being on the end of shouldn’t be coming against the likes Fulham and Toon. Toon in time will be a powerhouse with the money they’ve got backing them but they’re not a powerhouse yet, far from it, especially with half an XI missing. Today was a disaster from everyone involved. As others have said, away fans should be fully reimbursed. Losing is part of the game, losing with no fight and no idea isn’t acceptable.
3 goals due to individual errors and then a goal from a corner because the team doesn’t practice defending set pieces. Arsenal beating Villa will probably see Spurs back in 4th though
The only change would’ve been we’d have lost about 4-1 instead of 4-0. And if Werner took the penalty, somehow I think Newcastle would’ve won 7-0.
