2, If the guy is a devout attendee of home games
(his is the Toon after all) , then 3 years out may
well be a case of "act in haste, repent at leisure" .

 

He (a 24yr old former soldier) initially received only a £200 fine for this aggravated PO offence. Yes, he pleaded guilty, but that in itself was at the low end.
Regardless of his level of fanaticism for the Toon in particular or football in general, the Banning Order should have been for a minimum of 5 years, arguably longer. There is little or deterrent effect from only 3 years. My opinion.

 

Lifetime ban would send a proper message.

The old theory, however insensitive or incorrect, was that somebody like this was useful in demonstrating to the public what a complete twat looks like.

 

Giving a nazi salute is simply unacceptable. If football wishes to be against hate (racism, misogyny, homophobia, hate towards disabled people etc.) then it must take these things seriously.
This ****er didn't do it to other clubs...he did it cos we are seen by one as a "jewish" club and for me it is the equivalent of calling a black person the N word or an Asian person the P word.

There is a world of difference between being a tosser and a racist hateful **** imho.
