Way, way, way below usual standards but was expected. From 60mins we were ****ed. Amazed Kane lasted the 90. Dele didn’t look too ****ed whereas Kane was done after about 55 mins. Huge result though. We really needed that after the transfer window. Hopefully over the next week some more of the WC lads can build their fitness up, ideally do not wanna see Aurier in that lineup for the foreseeable future.
We clearly rode our luck in the second half, and it is a concern that the introduction of Dembele didn't grab the game by the scruff of the neck and put us back on the front foot like we were expecting and/or hoping, but we still managed enough glimpses of what we're capable of to get our noses in front when they needed to be So we'll be fine come mid-October!
Well why the fek dont they play him, he's better than 90% of their side. Perhaps they've forgotten that they own him, they've got so many scattered around to stop clubs like Spurs signing them.
There is something wrong with the loan system. A team shouldn't be allowed to load a player out to another team in the same division. Without Kennedy, Newcastle would be utter dross. And as he won't be able to play against the Chavs, it gives then an unfair advantage.
Mike Ashley has just forked out 90M on the House of Fraser, I doubt if Newcastle have an option to buy anyone until Ashley sells the club.
I know they might not buy. But to me it’s a no brainer for them to keep him. Even if they bought him and sold him on for a profit straight away.
Agree, to us, Newcastle must owe Ashley a fortune, he could pocket the transfer fee as a parting gesture. Isn't he supposed to be a Spurs fan anyway.
Chelsea. ""Mike is a Chelsea supporter. Everyone thinks he is a Tottenham supporter, by the way, and that upsets him." - Derek Llambias, Newcastle managing director. He's a massive ****. Of course he supports Chelsea.
I thought Dier did ok actually - if he hadn't kept getting sold short by Aurier and Ben! Eriksen was hit and miss for me today. His touch appeared to desert him at times - althoughahe wasn't alone there - and the last few corners were rank awful. Biggest disappointment for me (not including Aurier as that's pretty much a given) was Lucas. Expected more from him on the back of a bright pre-season. Seemed to be well off PL pace and looked a bit lost, especially first half. But a win is a win......
Aurier looks good when attacking but he's 30 m out of position when defending. They guy dies not gave a clue. Perhaps play him as a wide attacking mid.
We have better options there. Guys a feckin' liability at the moment - the bit where he went AWOL in the 2nd half being a case in point. He's also lazy - can't imagine that goes down well with the manager.....
Quick shout for Dembele. Showed his class when he came on and we looked a lot more balanced. Hope he's back to his best
1) apart from the goal we good in first half 2) lucky in 2nd half but dug in 3) toon are ok at home so it was a good three points 4) even though he wants to leave Toby shows Rose how not to behave like a **** stain on the blanket of the universe 5) Aurier in defence...oh dear! 6) Can Son start v Fulham so Ksne can rest? 7) Can Moura play out wide? 8) Can arsenal and City have a punch up tomorrow?
