Think Trippier was good when he played so would keep him.
The others I agree with...bit harsh on Vorm who has no chance to prove himself but Mason, Chadli and Carroll needed to step up to the plate and failed to do so when needed. We need players who can produce when needed ... that was a big part of Leicester's success.

Trippier stated very shaky, but he's a decent enough cover RB.

If there's any sort of attitude problems with Bentaleb too, he can join that list. And as far as I'm concerned, Son can go if we were to get a decent offer. Just don't get what he brings to the team. Early days I know, but you know when you watch a player and you can't quite put your finger on it, but you're just not remotely impressed?

I'd give Son and Njie another season as they really haven't had a chance to settle this year. And a massive contributing factor was the fact that we signed both of them 3 weeks into the season <doh>. I never, ever want to see another last-minute signing unless it's another VDV. Completely pointless, detrimental to the player, his team-mates and the manager, and almost inevitably guarantees that we get off to a slow start.

I personally don't get what Trips brings to the team either. Excellent crosser of the ball but we don't attack in a fashion that loads players into the box. Not quick enough or fit enough to do the job Poch clearly expects from his FB's. Currently a certain Danny Rose is the only one of the four of them who is meeting Poch's targets as far as I'm concerned - he is the benchmark against which the other 3 should be judged and tbh Trips comes bottom of that little comparison table.

Before he got injured Son looked like the upgrade on Chadli that we needed - but after getting injured he often runs out of steam when there's a good twenty minutes left to play and, like we saw with Lamela in 2014-15, he often tries to overcompensate by doing too much which invariably backfires. On the subject of backfiring, it didn't help that a fair number of his starts were up front either.

I appreciate what you're saying, but who would we get that's better and would be content with not playing too much football? Difficult to keep everyone happy. He's got elements to his game that need improving, but we've got far worse problems that need addressing first. The full backs are the least of our worries!! <laugh> <yikes>

We`ve obviously not been the same team since our title chances ended, probably due to a deflated squad after the disappointment and also suspensions to key players. Dreadful today, we were slow and ponderous, lacking intensity and urgency, our players kept being caught in possession which very unlike Spurs this season. They appeared like a team playing with one eye on the Euro`s or the beach, and had a mindset of trying not to pick up an injury, a couple of times our players bottled 50/50 tackles, they were not at it mentally. An awful result, very disappointed.

The difference with Lamela though, HBIC, was that I could spot something in him somewhere that looked like a good player. I am struggling to see that with Son. He's a £22mill Chadli for me. 1 Chadli is bad enough!

Well I'm glad I went out for the day and missed this debacle.

Disgraceful end to the season, though I suppose it's kind of good that we're disappointed at only finishing 3rd.

Overall it has been a good season - 3rd, mostly great football, Kane getting the golden boot etc.

Definitely work to do - finishing below Arsenal is majorly disappointing but if it rattles heads at our end then it might help in the long run.

Important summer now - need to strengthen properly with the cl approaching.

The obvious thing that could affect Son this summer is which (if any) of the various £20m+ forwards we're linked with arrive...
    - Batshuayi is an out-and-out striker
    - Lacazette can play up front or on either flank
    - Berardi can play up front or on the right
    - Embolo can play up front, in the hole or on the right

So from this standpoint Batshuayi won't affect Son's chances of starting games in any way, Lacazette would likely start on the left with Kane up front (while Son starts games where Lacazette starts up front), while both Embolo and Berardi could seriously limit his playing time, as Eriksen, Alli and Lamela are already ahead of him for places in the attacking trio and both Barardi and Embolo would move ahead of him.

    V. Interesting. Now, which one actually has a decent size pair of balls? Because that's what's apparently what we're lacking right now!...

Spurs will have to learn to play against 10 men i.e. Arsenal and Newcastle both took points with 10.

... the ethos at Stamford Bridge? .. if it moves kick it? ...

... rather disingenuous post RDBD .. wasn't hoof ball that got us a title 10 points clear of the nearest rival ..it was excellent game management and discipline plus some proper strong characters in the side with good leadership credentials...

... that said I had popped on to offer my genuine condolences... you have a cracking young side that will be even better next season...and perhaps sign a couple of quality experienced pros to help the young guns cope when th pressure is on ...

...or perhaps just address a little disingenuous bitterness... the fact is we just didn't succumb to pressure and collectively saw it through playing a counter attacking exciting football that, this season, was undeniably the best in the league .. but for a bit of a homer ref at the Emirates we might only have lost 2 games ... that is incredible in such a competitive league ...

.. and no you can't play a counter attacking style ..you don't have quick enough forwards ... but you do have the potential to improve on what you do well already ...

The three teams at the top of this year's Premier league all played with different styles. One liked intricate multi-pass build up, but didn't do it as well as the team that started it, one effectively parked the bus and struck on the counter and one played football as should be played i.e entertaining. I'll leave you to decide which team fits which category.
