To be fair, he's just a lad and technically 4th choice if you bear in mind Darlow is out on a loan that we can't recall. He's being thrown in at the deep end in an important match, so give him a chance.

There isn't much in this at all - apart from us gifting them a goal!

This rule about the keeper's is stupid. Apart from wondering if the same interpretation of the rules would have applied if it had been Chelsea or Man City, they need to think about the effects of what is happening.

I'm not sure Jak is good enough to make it, but at this rate we'll never find out as there is a real risk a young keeper's confidence could be destroyed over the course of this month. Apart from that, the message this sends out to Premier League clubs is to stockpile good goalkeepers - meaning that a big proprtion of our good (and potential international) goalkeepers lose the chance to play football as they are sat on the bench/reserves and so don't develop. I can't see how this rule helps anybody.

My criticism was more pointing at Elliott who is our 2nd choice keeper and is awful, my beef is not with the lad but with with the shamobilic situation we are left in.

Agree, but then it's not down to us to know these technicalities. However, somebody at the club has to. It must be somebody's responsibility to do the admin for the squad registrations and they need to understand these rules inside out. Whoever it is has messed up, unless they flagged it and Mike said do it anyway. In which case he is a twat.

 

I'm very concerned about Sunday. Will he play Williamson? Tiote? Gouffran? To be honest, Saylor concerns me as much in a game like that, given his history of stupidity.
