I do agree with this. Just like how we won't win the Premier League despite beating Chelsea and Spurs. We're probably in the position today that we'll finish in come May, which I believe would represent a resounding success in Ashley's eyes, and also for Pardew given the limitations.

Can't see AVB lasting in English football now. This high line he perseveres with will be the death of him, I always thought Soldado was an odd, hugely overpriced purchase, and I think they have too many of the same player and are now paying for it because everyone's trying to be the number 10. Chance missed for Spurs in reinvesting the Bale money properly. They should never have bought Lamela and instead should have paid whatever it took to bring someone like Lukaku to the Lane. They may rescue the situation in January, I supposed, but I just don't think AVB is particularly good at his job.

 

I'd take top 10 now, Tottenham are going to hammer someone by 5 or 6 soon, just relived it's not going to be us. They will improve, just don't know whether it will be with AVB or with someone else.
