Early handball call against Janmatt. Looks like he moved his arm towards it to me, but I can understand the ref not giving it.
We've had a few punts, but nothing with any quality, yet. They're trying to hit us on the break, so concentration at the back is key.
Speaking of sloppy and half-arsed... 1-0, Adebayor. Newcastle's defence allowed us multiple bites at the cherry and Mason ends up putting a very nice ball in for Adebayor to head home.
We look all over the place. Too slow in possession, Lamela giving the ball away. Front players pressing too slowly, they play round us and then we're exposed. I was about to say that Ade hasn't been in the game either but there we go. Big big improvement needed though. If City were flattered by the scoreline last week then if we win this one while performing like this then we will have gotten away with one too. I was typing this before/as we scored too by the way.
Danny Ings has equalised for Burnley. Out of contract at the end of the campaign, so he could get a big move if he impresses.
I wasn't convince by all of the pre-season talk about Mason, despite having been a fan of his earlier in his career. He's done really well since he came into the side, though. Chadli trying to do too much, which seems to be something of a problem with a number of our players.
I think Rose just fell over really, started to stumble outside the box anyhow. We still look open at the back at times.
Chadli with basically an open goal and he volleys over. Really poor defending on the free-kick by Newcastle, but he's got to hit the target with that, surely?
1-0 HT. Clearly the better side, but we didn't take full advantage of our dominance and I'm not sure that Krul saved anything. Looked a bit dodgy at the back at times too, but a good enough half, really. Need to make sure that we don't ease off or get sloppy in the second 45.
Newcastle are dreadful and if we don't finish this off then it will be a disaster. We have looked ok at times but created little or nothing. Rose has had a clear run down the left all afternoon but has dived, fallen over and played a series of poor crosses. Not enough from Lamela either and has left Dier exposed a couple of times as well. The defence has looked ok but still vulnerable and a better opposition would have had some joy for sure. Decent from Capoue and Mason the MOTM so far.
1-1, Ameobi. Newcastle hoof it down the left from the kick-off and Ameobi runs in behind a sleeping Dier and scores with his first couple of touches. That's absolutely appalling. How many managers have we had where a sleepy start hasn't been corrected. Pathetic.
