the more i watch soldado, I do wonder why we signed him. There's no doubting that he's a good striker, having produced an excellent goal record for a number of years in spain. However, He's not particularly tall or strong for a number 9, which is what we needed. When we rarely see a normal cross come into the box from a winger, he never looks like getting on the end of it. ...and bearing in mind we are trying a style of football where we pass the ball through to goal, that doesn't seem at all natural to him, either. He's never in the right position. I hate Alan Smith, but today he has suggested that Soldado looks like he needs a strike partner. For once, I actually agree with him. It won't be long before Spurs fans will grow very frustrated with Soldado. How much of it will be his own fault, I don't know. But for £26m it's looking more and more like a panic buy because Levy messed around for too long over other strikers, and had to get someone of "marquee" status to please the fans. Was he really at the top of our list? He doesn't look at all like a spurs player to me.
True but he's the most predictable player in the league. Run at defence. Cut inside. Shoot. Miss. Every time! Try crossing for a change!
