The new year RCL just wants to point out that...

A) the 1981 cup win (which ended with THAT Ricky Villa goal) began with a disappointing 1-1 away draw to a lower league QPR team managed by a former spurs player (Venables).
Just saying like...

and

B) How posh does RCL sound refering to himself in the third person?

Posh isn’t the word I’d use for anyone who refers to themself in the third person :emoticon-0105-wink:

Went full Nostradamus and decided not to watch the game lest
some dirge would be served up. Just a quick look at the BBC match
report seems to have vindicated that decision. :(

< sign of the times >

How does one know if they are not played.Miracles do happen. I believe Chelsea weren't keen on a certain Egyptian who was "sent" to Liverpool for some reason!!!!

Jose 100% wants an experienced striker this window so wouldn’t suit his narrative if he played Troy Parrott just in case the youngster came good <laugh>

Not many strikers about today. London Docks has gone. The mines have practically gone...….

I have just returned from watching Gillingham push the Spammers all the way at Priestfield. If only Spurs had payed with same energy as The Gills did, admittedly they came up short, but they gave everything on that field tonight every player pushed themselves to the limit and were just undone by a bit of superior quality.

And Haller will be returned to the hammers when young (20) Jack Tucker takes him out of his pocket.

I realise this is the thread of the Spurs game, but having watched two teams today I have seen one lose and one draw, but the defeated team made me proud the drawing team just left me frustrated.

I must see a different Lo Celso to you, neat and tidy player but no stand out qualities and Spurs could find someone equally as good as him for half the money.
I obviously do but I have probably seen a lot more of him than you. Even on the very limited minutes he has had for us he has shown he can offer more than Eriksen currently does. I think you would be unlikely to find a player as good as him for less than £20 million.

I think it's still too early to pass judgement on Lo Celso but watching him play, I don't see many if any comparisons between him and Eriksen. Not a criticism at all just think they have very different styles, which is why it was a bit strange we brought him in to presumably be the Dane's successor. From day 1, Eriksen had 'playmaker' written all over him. That ability to play the game at the tempo of his choice and seemingly find pockets of space where others could not.

Lo Celso - maybe it's the Latin american combative style - seems to enjoy playing more like Lamela does: in the thick of it surrounded by opposition players. If anything, he strikes me as a blend between Lamela and Winks, which in the long run may prove useful but tbh right now is not the player we're crying out for. I'd say the same about Sessegnon - he's a bit neither here nor there in terms of his style. We are struggling to get the best out of both players because neither of them is good enough to build a system around (although Aurier, apparently, is - go figure.) but at the same time the system (or lack thereof) we are using isn't allowing them to play to their strengths either.

How do you know how much of him I’ve seen?

Eriksen has scored and assisted this season more than Lo Celso hasn’t he?

Maybe it is too soon but top players can come in and show their class from the get go.

The Lamela/Winks comparison I see more than Eriksen, but then why was Poch so keen on signing him?
