Forgot to mention, not sure if those of you could hear it when watching at the time but down in Park Lane, Kyle Walker FINALLY had a proper chant made for him.

Initially over the years, perhaps maybe once or twice a season if he was lucky, Kyle would get a "Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Da Da Da Dada Da Da Daaa" To the tune of 'Proclaimers - 500 miles' but a group in the crowd got that going along with a little verse which was sung for a solid 10 minutes.

So it went:

"And I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to see the man who scored from 40 yards against the Arsenal

Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker, Da Da Da Dada Da Da Daaa"

Cheesy, I know, but it's about time he got some proper recognition from fans.

I thought it was top notch, everyone picked it up in no time and seemed to keep it going for ages like you say - felt longer than 10 minutes!

(not that I can in any way take credit for it)

Neither of them will get anywhere near the Premier League award, either.
Interesting to see who's nominated this season, as most of the best players have been defensive, in my opinion.

With Ibrahimovic, Sanchez, Costa, Lukaku and Kane scoring plenty, I doubt the nominees will be defenders, but I agree that there are more deserving causes. Who would you have? Luiz, Kante, Alderweireld, Walker? Herrera's done well, Lallana too.

I hate to say it because of who he decided to play for, but Kante deserves it, I think. Walker just edges Rose for us. Our back four have all been consistently outstanding and Walker's the only one who's been there almost every game. All our attacking players and even Lloris have been up and down.

As RWAEB suggests, I'd probably go with Kante. Leicester's fall and Chelsea's rise have emphasised how effective he is.
The only time I've seen him have a poor game this season was against us, as Dembele and Wanyama bullied him.
Most sides simply can't do that and it's allowed him to thrive.

The attacking players that you named have all had pretty good seasons, but sprinkled with really poor performances.
All of them have had quite a few games where they've completely disappeared, which I don't think is true for a lot of the better defensive ones.
Even sides in the bottom half, like Boro and Southampton, have had impressive defensive performances regularly.
Van Dijk was having a great season before his injury and I doubt he'll be there at the start of the next one.

For Utd, I'd probably say De Gea, again. Consistently superb.
