2-3 players a window is par for the course. I wonder how many he specifically asked for and how many Paratici solely decided on
Loaning them is working better than selling them but neither is good when you overpay. Give me an example of how you think we can do better to correct mistakes.
Including the final fees for the loan players that's about £80m per window. Since when has that been par for us?
Spence was obviously Paratici, based on the amount of toys Conte threw out of them pram over his signing
It’s Friday night and I cba to argue but I’d like to see the manager have more of a say instead of being players that he doesn’t rate. Whether that’s the correct approach or not remains to be seen but Spurs need to change something as this current squad is bloated and not fit for purpose.
I agree with your last comment to some extent but it doesn't help us to spend more money to sell players than it costs to loan them out.
No transfer fee. Ndombele and Lo Celso are two examples that cost big money and have had multiple loan moves. None of these loan clubs will keep them permanently.
That's just a consequence of the mistake we made by paying too much for them. The expected transfer fee is negative since their contracted salary is more than their value. It is actually impossible to sell them. Loaning them gets some money back plus gives a small chance they will come good so is the better option.
Extended highlights: Clive Allen thinks that we have Foster in goal, for some reason. The clip reminded me of one significant change, though. Porro is now taking our corners. Thought he did pretty well on them.
Efficient enough, I’d say Perisic’s corners are better but we seem to prefer him being in the box as he’s not bad in the air for those near post flick-ons. Porro’s general crossing is really good though, I like the whip he gets, Trippier/ Trent-esque. If he could defend he’d be a hell of a player but right now he’s making Perisic look like Maldini. Edit: Though having said this, if our CBs could actually defend I doubt our WBs lack of defensive nous would be much of an issue, they’re both in the team primarily for their attacking quality.
if our defenders could defend and if our midfielders were efficient enough to help the full backs…all the top teams that play with wingbacks always have midfielders ready to help them double up. I don’t think we’ve got that for a start…you roll Skipp n Hoj into one and we still don’t get a Kante…who was also very menacing on the front foot. our midfield needs an upgrade too…neither excel at anything imo
The clues in the name surely. If they can't defend at all then we should select Son and Danjuma instead.
Realistically it's a domino effect - Bentancur and Bissouma are out meaning we lack our creative fulcrum, putting additional pressure on our defence-minded CMs and WBs - Hojbjerg is looking knackered, putting additional pressure on Skipp and the WBs - Our current WBs can't defend, putting additional pressure on Skipp and our CBs - Our CBs are getting PTSD of the period between 2019-21 where the genius idea of letting midfield be overrun if the CBs could mop up proved to be a not very good idea, putting additional pressure on our GK - Our GK is on the decline, putting additional pressure on the GA column It's primarily a systemic issue, which would be less of an issue if Bentancur or Bissouma were fit as they'd be putting pressure on our opponents with their passes and/or dribbles which none of Skipp, Hojbjerg or Sarr can really do, much as it would be less of an issue if we actually had an out-and-out DM in our squad
