How long will these players stick around if we don’t start winning trophies? Plus they all know they can go elsewhere and earn a lot more.
Remind me how winning the FA Cup helped Arsenal keep hold of Sanchez, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Giroud...
Sanchez was the only one who wanted to leave. The Goons got rid of all the rest. And winning the FA Cup might not be enough to keep them but it’s better than not winning anything at all.
How will we be more likely to win trophies with a worse chairman? What changes do you actually propose to make it more likely that we will win some? If it's spending more money are you up for your share because all the money comes from the fans in the end?
Not when your argument is that, if the club doesn't win any trophies, the key players will leave. An argument I don't recall being brought up when Berbatov and Keane were spirited away within six months of us winning the League Cup, funnily enough...
Naturally, this has led to all manner of strawman arguments from Man Utd trolls trying to crush any dissent. Funny how all it takes is a few wins to puff up their sense of entitlement, isn't it?
If the money isn’t there then the club need to say that top 4 is the target and are happy as long we achieve that. Poch, Kane and co don’t see that as enough and neither do I. I’m not saying just winning a domestic trophy will make players want to stay as ultimately there is only two competitions that really count and we don’t have a chance at winning either unless the club operates in a different way (Poch’s words). But winning a FA or League Cup is some sort of success at least.
When Huddersfield or Cardiff do it to them, they'll be bitching like us. It's poor for the spectacle of the game and for paying fans but we don't count....
I saw this stat last night. It was doing my nut in during the game. I was watching Mike Clueless Dean and not once did he even tell De Gea to get a move on. So frustrating when goalkeepers do this, which is the whole purpose of them doing it I suppose.
What happened to the rule of booking keepers who hold onto the ball for more than six seconds? It was enforced a few years ago, but these days refs don't think it's worth giving a warning uptil the 88th minute
You're way off the reservation on this. We get your negativity but try and get it vaguely accurate. It has been stated to be the significant priority above winning domestic cups on numerous occasions.... “To win the Carabao Cup and be in the middle of the Premier League table …” Pochettino said. “I think I would be sacked a few years ago – with two or three Carabao Cups or FA Cups. If you don’t finish how we have finished [in the league] in the last three seasons but win the FA Cup, I don’t know if Daniel [Levy, the Spurs chairman] would have too much patience with me or is nice to say: ‘OK, you’re 10th in the Premier League, I’ll give you a new contract.’ https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...pochettino-champions-league-cup-job-tottenham
I don't see why it should be one or the other. We are not league winning material...so I'll take top 4 and a trophy.
I'll say this much yesterday's performance would have been enough to trounce them if we were at Home.
I'd not call it picky...I'll be kind and call it spoilt. We've performed miracles in the league and come close in the cups, despite not prioritising them. We made the FA Cup semi-finals in the 2 previous years and the EFL Cup Final in 2015. We lost to Chelsea, Chelsea and United. We are competing in those tournaments but winning against teams with far greater resources doesn't happen because one thinks it should or wants it to. We've made the semi-final of the Crabao Cup this year and are leading after the first leg. Win or lose, pretty much everyone at the club's giving their all to improve our lot...
Mike Dean once again decided to test just how committed the Nomads are to their insane conspiracy theory that he's a Spurs fan
We are experiencing some internal difficulties at the moment....your custom is valuable to us and we will get back to you in due course.....
The positive out of this is that (and it's happened a few times before), Poch has his own felleini in Llorente who caused havoc in the United defence when they went to full on bus parking and you boys were playing it long. Plus Llorente seemed pretty up for it which is always good. At least you went full out attack rather than like for like changes.
