General Matchday. You'll have to go back a few pages. Was sort of late morning/ early afternoon time yesterday IIRC.

If you want a summary, it started from NSIS saying he wanted a top money back up for Kane, for which I replied saying it's pretty much impossible as no top striker will sit on the bench, I highlighted that clubs with a world class striker (like us with Kane) don't have adequate backup due to the fact good level strikers won't sit on the bench most weeks and thus rely on guys like Son (and now Lucas hopefully) to step up to the role if required. Then it sort of escalated into squad depth, NSIS was of the opinion the rest of the top 6 had stronger squads than ours, I felt only City's was considerably better and that all others generally had similar amounts of quality on the bench. Was a good debate to be honest, I'm usually just on the Prem board looking for a wind up, first proper bit of footballing debate I'd had <laugh>

All the media seem to be banging on about is how United played very well in the first half and deserved to be 2 or 3 goals ahead at half time. Yes they dominated the first half, but their best chance came from Rose`s back pass, their other chances were half chances and I don`t remember Lloris having to make any great saves to keep it 0-0. They put us under pressure but we dealt with it well apart from a few shaky moments early on. The best chance in the first half should have fallen to Spurs, via the stone wall penalty that was either not seen or bottled.

Utd didn't play well. There was just an energy and urgency that had been 100% lacking in the previous game.
Spurs were poor in the first half and gifted possession regularly. Utd's midfield were on top and that was reflected in possession stats.
But it was the lack of any guile or skill in and around the penalty area and the lack of any killer instinct in front of goal which meant that Utd created few, if any, clear cut opportunities. Should have been 2 up? Yes. Deserved to be? No.
In the second half, Spurs were clinical. The extra quality and ability to move the ball quickly wrongfooting a laboured defence was in stark contrast to Utd in front of goal at the other end.
To win 3-0 whilst playing well below par and allowing the other team more possession and territory is a sign of the quality in the Spurs team and the lack of it in Utd's at present.
