I’m surprised you’re not out on the piss celebrating tonight?! We should be congratulating you on the 2-2 again!
Wow! Go to bed, you're just embarrassing yourself now. Pulled me up about grammar and spelling and you can hardly string a sentence together
As a neutral i don't thin he had a good game but by the standard of PL refs this season he was fine . The ref we had today was laughable but lie you we didn't win not because of the ref but our own performance. Couple of asides Hererra is just a snide little **** who should be booked in the tunnel to save time and lessen his leeway, How is Dier still a first choice player - i may be missing something but i rarely see him have a good game these days.
Embarrassing. Yet again, in a game with high stakes, we fail to deliver. Seriously pondering why I waste going to these crunch games, I turn up but the team doesn't.
Yep, I agree. We shouldn’t have to settle for this crap standard of refereeing each week though. As I said earlier, I think it’s the worst the PL has seen right now. Dier has frustrated many of us at times too, But Tuesday showed how bad things are when he doesn’t play. He’s not had a great season, but I’d choose him over Wanyama and Sissoko at the moment.
I think blaming the ref is disingenuous. It was a physical game. Utd have a number of players who can't time tackles so their fouls look bad; Spurs are more subtle. Dier does a lot of leaning into players and uses his stature. Both teams committed niggling fouls. Some the officials called, some they didn't. But there was no preferential treatment of Utd. I'm not going to say Utd were the better team because it's not the case. Utd took chances, Spurs didn't. On another day, it might have been the other way round. Spurs didn't play as well as you can do. But no team does all the time. Teams that win things do so when it really matters.
Dier and Wanyama are having a competition between themselves to see who can look the least like the player they did last season. While an excuse can be made for both, with Wanyama injured for a chunk of the season while Dier's had to fill in both in midfield and defence pretty much since opening day, the nosedive in Dier's performances since the England matches with Brazil/Germany back in November is a concern (while also exposing our lack of depth in central midfield, which I've been banging on about for at least two seasons at this point...)
How is throwing out an arm when you're on the ground mistiming a tackle? It's a cynical foul all day, particularly when it stops a player from attacking in the area. Mourinho knew it too, he subbed Valencia off straight after. Say what you want about the first one, I've seen plenty of clear reds across given as bookings this season(including from our players), so I won't complain.
It shouldn’t be the standard performance though. We, that is all of us,deserve better. Football should not be a lottery dependent upon the referee
Valencia should have walked for the first tackle. He’s a dirty **** who was very lucky to stay on the field, by all accounts!
He's having a below-par season but in general he's been a great player since he joined. On his day he's a great DM that possesses a very decent range of passing, not forgetting he's the sole reason that allows us to switch formations mid-game if need be.
