Football managers get paid more than brain surgeons: I suspect the job is actually a lot more complicated, certainly a lot fewer people seem to be a success. If the rate of sacking of brain surgeons was as high as football managers then we'd be in big trouble. If it's as easy as you suggest why is the average time in the job so low? If any of our posters have been paid £m per year for managing a club or have won a major European league of trophy as a manager then I will accept that they are full qualified to judge AVB. If not then we should all accept that he probably knows more about it than us, accept that he will make some correct decisions that we don't understand and accept that he will, like the rest of us, make some mistakes. I like the debate, it's the accusations that he is an idiot that really get to me.
No offence taken! Surely everyone else is Wilkins Micawber 'sack AVB, don't worry, something (someone) will turn up that is better'
Ade was more precautionary wasn't it? Didn't he tweak his hammy or something against City? Didn't think it was serious.
Can't say I've ever noticed it before with United but come to think of it I've never sat in the South Lower for one of their games I don't think. Usually it's a case of grabbing whatever seats you can get when you log in but as I said my mate thought it was all away fans on the lower tier, not sure why. Anyway I'll be in the Paxton with the grumblers
I think Adebayor had a case of the Norway in Novembers. I suspect his strain or whatever will clear up by Sunday.
I think this is getting silly, brain ops aren't broadcast worldwide on Sky, if they were I guess the surgeon would be on better wages! The sack rate is high because time waits for no-one. When I said ex players, coaches, I meant anyone in the game really, of course you're not going to get ex PL players and managers on here, it doesn't have to be of the same calibre that's nonsense, if you think the nuts and bolts of football are somewhat different across the levels, its not. And if we're going to be really silly, Mourinho and AVB have never played the game at the level they're managing so what do they know anyway!
Exactly what I was thinking. The sack rate of managers is high, IMO, because you can't sack the team, so you sack the manager as a way of sending a scapegoat into the desert to rid the team of the sin of its underperformance.
Surely you jest hbic!, MNBS analysis by Carra, tv gold! Have you seen the clip from MNF where Neville is talking about FB's being almost a specialist position or something like that, and Carra cut in with " fullbacks!...if you're a fullback you're either a failed winger, or a failed centre back, nobody when they're growing up playing in parks wants to be Gary Neville when they grow up!" ...
Lawro's predicting a 2-2 draw. Why? There's no way we're anywhere near as good as Bayern, and we all know the ease with which United took them apart. I fear another humiliation is on the cards. Van Persie will score a hat-trick, and all the Gooners will be laughing and praising the antics of "agent" RVP. We are fast becoming the joke side of English football.* *...after one bad result.
