It was a collision more than a blatant foul and Rooney was completely playing for it however I was surprised it wasn't given.
Caulker definitely gets the ball before there is any contact, it clearly changes direction. In my book that's not a penalty, though of course I have seen much lesser 'fouls' given.
Rooney initiates contact and lifts both of his legs: please log in to view this image Considering what Bale's been booked for this season...
United come to WHL set up like a Wolves or a Bolton and Fergie thinks he deserved to win. Of course they did! they managed 3 goal line saves a hand ball in the penalty area and kept punting the ball upfield in a manner that Alladyce would have been proud of. Mind you they did have a couple of shots with one being a very good goal. We must be better than I thought if they had to resort to that. The mighty United!
As expected, bacon face has let the linesman have both barrels for not awarding the penalty, amongst countless other grave sins against Utd!..
Who invited Suarez to sit in the crowd, anyway? please log in to view this image Surprised he didn't go down, to be honest.
Actually, I thought they looked very comfortable in the first 45 minutes and even in the second half, when we were forcing them back, still looked worth a point. A draw was the fair result imo.
And the discussion on MOTD2 will be whether it was a justified penalty rather than a Rooney dive (whilst if Bale had been in the same position the discussion would be quite the opposite). Now I've seen it again it looks much more like he deliberately collided with Caulker.
They did look comfortable in first half OS but set up like that I would expect them to, they are not Wolves are they! In the second half they were anything but comfortable and if you think they deserved a draw then I couldn't agree less. Only the skill/luck of their goalkeeper kept them in the game.
Really good performance - and a draw was the least we deserved. Forget Baconface and his whingeing - the guy is a tool - his mighty reds were outplayed for large parts of the game and he is using his usual diversion tactics. Thought Lennon was superb throughout although a top team performance. Great to see Scotty and Benny back as well. Well done AVB and all the team. Pleasure to be at the Lane today!!
Well at least we didn't roll over against them like we usually do. As for 'skill/luck' of their keeper, they were good saves. A keeper doesn't need to be flying through the air to make the save be taken as good. Many a genuinely good save has come from a keepers knee. Talking of keepers, disappointing to see our " world class" keeper get beat on his near post .
Two were off his feet if I remember correctly OS and luck plays a part in that............yes and skill! Yes it was a bit disappointing to see Lloris beat like that but you are talking to the wrong man with that one.
