Already written off tomorrow. Can't see us getting anything at all from it - our record against United speaks for itself and, after last week, the players will be fragile. Man Utd are already exploiting this in the mind games and, with the England situation still rumbling (the media are a disgrace) I think we'll struggle. United 3-1.
moorpheus19,you need to think more positivealot of goon's though the same as you last week, unfortunatly, they were wrong
Just to further increase our need for a win tomorrow, Arsenal are on the verge of closing to within 4 points of us (game in hand)
This is turning into the old 606 site with the amount of doom and gloom. Our record against the 'top' teams may not be great this season, but the difference is that we had a very good chance of winning each and every match (except the first two probably). We may have failed, and in the last match failed badly, but there is very little evidence to support such negative comments. One of the problems with the modern game is that opinions change way too quickly and a single match is used as evidence for how the rest of the season will go. Yes, we could easily lose tomorrow but it is by no means a foregone conclusion... and ManU know we are well capable of beating them and they will be a lot less confident than some of our so-called supporters!
This is certainly a very reasonable statement to make and, if it wasn't ManU I'd support it 100%. I don't think ManU think we're as capable of beating them as you might think - our record against them speaks for itself. They won't underestimate us (and judging by their recent setups against us, they aim to negate our strengths rather than just going all out attack) but they won't lose sleep tonight because they're playing us tomorrow I don't think. Out of the top teams, I think we're capable of having a damn good go at them all - but if you were to order 'most likely to beat' to 'least likely' - ManU would be at the bottom of the list.
Three points will guarantee there isn't a mathematical chance of us being relegated - be nice if we got it sorted today...
I, obviously, am desperately hoping for a Spurs win however my somewhat negative attitude will result in the following post-game: If we lose and play poorly - it'll be as I expected so I won't be too down (as I said I'd already written the game off) If we lose and play well - slightly happy. At least there was a response We draw - decent result - happy with that We win (either nicking a goal or dominating) - absolutely stoked! So there's no real situation where I'll be as crushed as I was following last week
What about losing 10-0 with Bale and Modric getting injured and Adebayor getting an 8 game ban for racially abusing Scholes?
That might come under the 'lose but play well' category @YV: Yeah OK I might be a tad disappointed in that circumstance!
