Just thought I'd note City's bench from the weekend. Rather depleted, despite them not having that many absentees. 2 keepers, 2 centre-halves, a midfielder and 2 academy players. Probably won't affect this game, but I think they'll spend a lot in January.
A bunch of Francoists are having a go at Bentancur as they think he's Rodri, so let's see if that gets their interest up...
Should pick a strong side, but I would still expect at least 5 changes with Davies, Dragusin, Bentancur, Sarr and Richarlison all starting. Vicario, Porro, Dragusin, Van der ven, Davies, Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison, Johnson, Solanke and Richarlison. And whilst Pep talked playing the kids still expect the likes of Ake, Akanji, Kovacic, Nunes, Grealish and Foden to start for City.
If Pep is serious and he intends to essentially fob the game off with a much weakened and rotated side then it’s a great opportunity to potentially knock the best team out of the comp. I really hope we go as strong as possible with minimal rotation.
100% agree. I can put up with an inconsistent league campaign if we actually go far in at least one of the cups. We are never going to win the league and we have the potential to win either the league cup or europa.
Need to win something. Getting to semi finals but finishing 8th or lower in the league isn’t good enough. The manager has said that too so I’m hopeful the cup selections will have the league fixtures in mind.
Got great seats in south stand...but there are so many players and coaches on the pitch.. the train weren't this crowded
