There's plenty of clarity: if the players "wronged" insist on whining about it and only serve to make themselves sound like entitled bellends who think the laws of the game don't apply to them, it was the correct decision
Especially when said players gleefully accept an appalling penalty given to them for handball in the CL...something NONE of them appesled for...(apparently not sppealing is z big deal in deciding if a rule should be applied!)
He's still managed to get it wrong. It's only if a goal's scored that accidental handball is an offence. The only people who know less than players about the laws of the game, are pundits. I didn't see him crying when they got a ridiculous penalty against us in the CL QF. As intended, the rule changes do bring certainty......I'm certain they should be repealed immediately.
I'm not disagreeing with you, it was the correct decision. However, the scenario that I quoted may lead to confusion. Perhaps an accidental handball should have to be in the opponents half for the goal to be chalked off.
Rodney Marsh is gobbing off, saying that Hugo laughing is proof that VAR has massive problems **** off, Rodney Marsh
Shot stats (total = on + off target + blocked) ... Spurs vs Villa : Spurs = 31 = 7 + 14 + 10 Citeh vs Spurs : Citeh = 30 = 10 + 8 + 12 Not really much difference in the games on those stats (which are the measure of attacking proficiency) .
The highlight, for me, was Gary Neville having to reverse the vehicle on all of the Man City lavishing of praise during his commentary. It was actually embarrassing how much he was gushing about how good Man City are, in the moment when he thought they'd won the match. But then, no. Even he had to say that he laid it on a bit thick. So happy that we're upsetting the party by not losing as expected. If we were Liverpool and did exactly the same thing, they'd be praising a "champion contender" performance. "Getting points when you don't play well is a sign of a good team", and all that jazz!
Second (dis)honourable mention goes to Alan Shearer, whining on MOTD, about the "other" incident which we thought was a penalty that wasn't given. Oh how entertaining, and predictable, it is when their beloved team doesn't win.
506 passes to City's 611...it felt like we only had about 300. The stats don't measure up with the way the game came across. They did have 30 shots but they only had 10 on target
City fans still crying about it FFS Everyone's defence seems to be 'nobody, not even the players saw anything wrong with it' but the fact remains, it hit his hand which resulted in the ball angling nicely into Jesus's path Nice little dance though to celebrate the 'winner' lol
The often overlooked point about disputed penalties , is it a guarantee that they will be scored if given , ask Mr Aguero how it went last time .....
Like I said earlier, neither did the Leicester players see anything wrong with the Wolves 'goal' last week. Neville after the goal ''that's what champions do, they find a winner'' No-one-except here- is saying ''the secret is to get points even when you play badly'' When Burnley,Brighton or whoever takes a point off us at WHL, they go on about a resolute defence and how brilliant they were at keeping us out despite our 70% possession and 30 attempts. All the credit goes to the defensive, boring , time wasting (fair tactic) team. Here: Man City deserve all 3 points because we offered nothing going forward ( how did we score 2 goals?) .
There are stats that show they were camped in the final third, but as I repeatedly say : Possession (and perhaps add : territory) is nine tenths of the law, but putting the ball in the net is 100% of the score. The main reason Citeh did not win is the same reason Villa held out for 70 mins : poor finishing.
The expectations from Spurs are now a lot higher, given that we've been in the top 4 the last few seasons and played attractive football along the way.
For us, yes. For the "pundits" , they are just haters. Any slither of an excuse to attack THFC is gladly taken. So every time Spurs reach a CL final, or do not finish out of the PL top 4, the festering bitterness within them doubles in size. And on the new WHL bitterness, I cannot wait for Levy to start taking chunks out of the debt burden with all their "banter" blurb like the NFL, Sarries etc.
