If it was just one game, I'd say yeah, unlucky, we played well against a supposedly top side. We just didn't have our shooting boots today. But, it's not, is it? It's a recurring theme. We fail to take our chances often, and then fall asleep at the back.

Sodding autocorrect on Mac OS 10.10.3 drives me mad. That just adds insult!

Can't agree with this. I think Fazio had possibly his best game for us and Lamela has certainly improved greatly since the start of the season.

I think we played well today. Kane missed some chances and joe hart played well.
We made a proper game of it which is a big improvement on our last 3 matches against them.
Ithough rose, dier, vertongen and fazio played well. Bentaleb and mason were solid and lamela seemed ok.
Kane got himself into good positions. I thought the players all worked hard too.
Our weakness is that our subs don't change games which suggests we need a different make up to our squad.
Disappointed with the result but not with the performance

What was it?About 20 minutes or so gone and instead of being 4-0 up we go 0-1 down.I thought we beat the top teams at the Lane and lose to the minnows!
I rate this just about the craziest Spurs season for some while.
Wonder if we will improve next season?
We may finish 6th after all this, which would be good for anyone else. But not us!!!!!!

Really? I thought Bentaleb was great again. He's a very classy player and probably the most consistent outfield player we have.

Lloris delt well with a number of crosses but his slip that almost gifted them a goal was a result of very poor reading of the game and I thought he should've come out and forced Aguero to go around him for the goal. Not his best day, in my opinion.

Bentaleb is not a bad player, don't get me wrong YV., but if he's the most consistent player we have., then we've done well to finish 6th or 7th.
    I rest my case.

Goddamit, isn't there a ruling telling the refs that if Sky said it's a goal, then it's a goal? Or does the policy of blindly following what the Murdoch Empire says only apply to US presidential elections?

Not quite sure what to make of the game yesterday, there was just an air of nothingness about it. No real urgency to really try and win the match, City won via a quick counter whereas we should have finished two good chances, that aside, it was just the typical showings of one of the last games of the season with players having half an eye on their summer holiday. We're looking a bit tired now, the long season has caught up with us in recent weeks, I wouldn't mind seeing some youngsters given a chance over the remaining 3 games, the likes of Onomah, Winks, Alli (who I'm presuming will return now from his loan immediately, like Pritch did at the end of last season where he played in our final game), Walker-Peters and maybe one or two others could all benefit from a bit of first team experience.

I thought that was the clearest yellow card ever but no-one else seems to have even spotted it.

Their starting eleven cost about £200m and ours about £80m. Their's was also much older than ours. Yet we outplayed them and lost only because we didn't take our chances. I'd say that was a pretty good sign for the future

Are positive comments like that allowed?

This season we have beaten the league champions - inflicting one of only two defeats on them they suffered in the whole season, and defeated the likely runners-up. In all the matches we played against the top four, I would argue only the away match at ManU did we play badly. Sure we lost heavily to City away, but I would argue dodgy refereeing spoilt that completely. So that is progress. Sure many will argue that we didn't play well against some of the poorer teams, but then that will probably be the same people who have previously argued that we didn't play well against the top four. Basically there are people here that will never be satisfied, so I wonder what they are actually hoping for? As PowerSpurs points out by way of the value of the squads, we can't possibly compete financially so we are currently competing at or about our expected level. How quickly people forget the pre-Jol years of mid-table obscurity, of hope that one day we might be good enough to get back into Europe - by which I mean effectively the EL, not the CL! Expectations are so quickly adjusted aren't they!

I don't think you can draw any conclusions from that game.

City are sleepwalking to the end of the season, but they have class players in Silva and Aguero who can create a take chances at any moment, even when the team are generally lazing about. Spurs had more energy at times, but similarly there was a difficulty maintaining effort and concentration for the full 90 minutes with the poison chalice of 5th place being the most likely reward at the end of the season.

When City have a purpose, they have made light of work of Spurs (Utd too - we have been no better against them when it's really mattered).

They looked devoid of energy and drive in midfield without Toure and their defence must be grateful for an in form Hart behind them. Spurs could have won the game; City did - but the result didn't tell us much about the future prospects for either side.

Technically it told us that Poch will be in charge of Spurs next season. As for City...

Thanks for the glass half full. I'm still coming to terms with why we picked Sunday to have our worst finishing game. It broke my unofficial record for the most times I thought we would score and didn't. But I guess I shouldn't complain. It was a lively game that could easily have been 4-3. I thought the team played reasonably well, except for Mason, who unfortunately had a poor game. Dier continues to look so good at RB I wonder if he really should be a CB. Lamela continues to deserve his place, I thought. In the end, I'm reasonably satisfied with this year and this team because we've established an appropriate style of play and we've played football which I found for the most part worth watching. The big bonus is the emergence of Academy players.

We'll be adding Pritchard next season as well, who's had an amazing year with Brentford and could finish it off with a promotion if they win the playoffs. I remember about 2-3 years ago when Pritch was being raved about after he and Coulthirst obliterated the Barca youth team on their own turf, he then had a loan at Swindon where he played really well but since stepping up to the Championship he's been on a different level, making the TOTY and placing 8th in the running for the Championship's best player. Add Dele Alli too, who isn't a youth product of ours but someone very young, who like Pritch, has also had an amazing season, being voted the best young player in the whole of the Football League, so that's two very good young players coming back in the Summer who will arguably fight and stake a claim for first team positions. I don't want to put an over reliance on young players and to expect them to become Premier League stars immediately but I can't help but be excited to see the likes of a more experienced Kane, Bentaleb, Mason and Dier coupled with Pritch and Alli next season.
