Refs decide the title as much as the millions spent on the teams. It's beyond a joke with so much at stake that certain teams get advantages they have not earned. This is a multi-billion business built on random and occasionally biased decision making.
No complaints about that one though. We really shoot ourselves in the foot. Watch us let in at least 5 now. That's what we do.
Players diving for penalties, fans yelling "HANDBALL!!!" if the ball is at knee height, conveniently incompetent refereeing - sorry, which Manchester club are we playing again?
What's impressed me is that we have shown that against sides who have come to play, we can create good chances. O.k. We still lack a clinical finisher.
Love the forward play from Spurs but City look like they will score every time they go forward. We will do well to get a draw out of this but not unhappy with our play.
Problem is we are playing very differently than the Arsenal game, we are throwing a lot of men forward but if play slows down and we lose the ball then it ends up leaving us really exposed at the back. It's a hard one to get the balance right. We have probably had as many chances as them. I just hope if we do let in a third we don't bottle it and get humiliated.
Dear Jonathan Moss and friends, We'd appreciate it if you would consider giving us a decision at some point today. You ****s. Thanks, from your chums at Spurs. How many times do we have to put up with this sort of **** when playing against these sides? Ludicrous stuff. City have been very good going forward and look exceptionally dangerous, but they do look vulnerable on the break. It'll be hard for us to get anything out of this game, especially with the pillocks we've got as officials.
How the hell can the ref's association claim that's not offside? I understand backing your man, but that's a joke. Aguero did well to use Lampard's personal gravity field to bend it into the far corner, though.
Soldado looks very good when there our three attacking midfielders are close by. Almost never loses it and can play other through. If only he could get his confidence back in front of goal he would be well worth the money. It should be 0-1 if the officials had done their job properly though that would have flattered us. If anything Lampard fouled Lamela not the other way around
Sorry for saying it, but so far it's been pretty much true to the blueprint for Spurs for most of the last 20 years - open, a threat going forward, but an accident waiting to happen at the back.
As scary as some of their attacking play is, especially Aguero, it says a lot that neither of their goals should have stood - Lloris was blocked for the first goal and it was a blatant dive for the second. Says a lot that the same player was responsible for both...
