After this performance, I think Adebayor is worse than Peter Crouch. Anyone else agree? Crouch was committed, worked hard and played the lone man role far better than Adebayor. Crouch knew he didn't have the skills or the pace to blow past people but he had far better movement to create space for others. Adebayor looked disinterested as usual.
Totally agree Moorph. I said there would be a few surprises before the end of the season. - this is one of them. Amazing result!!
The difference between the teams was attitude and work rate, Spurs were poor for 30-35 minutes but the players never stopped working. Sometimes if you go that extra mile, you get the rewards even if things aren't going your way. City simply couidn't be bothered, from manager to player there was no real desire to win that. Fair play, never saw that result coming. Very much possible 70 points won't suffice now. Could be looking at 72-73 to absolutely assure 4th. Liverpool v Chelsea massive now.
I certainly don't wish to eat my words from before the game where I was under the impression we were gonna get tonked. It was a justified train of thought - City were playing decent, had options up front and they were on a reasonable run of form. We were playing poorly, had no options up front, struggled for goals and were on a run of 1 win in 7. I obviously wanted us to win, I just tend to go with my head rather than my heart nowadays (saves the heart getting broken again ) Overall though, I'm very very happy we won and I just hope the team take all they can from the game to build on it against Wigan.
I'd thought we would get beat comfortably, glad to be wrong. Massive credit to AvB, those subs he made changed the game. Tbh I hope I never see Adebayor play for us again.
Adebayor just looks like he can't be arsed. Lazy, slow and no form. Just wants the pay cheque. Send him packing in the summer please!
I'd rather have Crouch, yeah. Also anyone else notice Adebayor's total lack of expression (apart from putting his hand to his face) when Dempsey scored? Am loving the returns of the Hudd! Just give that guy the ball in space and watch how things start happening... Great win - fantastic blitzkrieg for the goals. Gotta give AVB fullish marks for this one. The changes were necessary (so maybe not full marks for AVB?)and proved superb. Can Spurs start playing a bit more like Spurs again now, please? (I mean that in the positive sense). I just think that the bit of class that Hudd offers seems like a breath of fresh air compared to how we've been much of the season. And with Bale and Defoe back we have some pace and penetration again. No-one's mentioned that excellent save from Lloris in the first half where he stuck his right hand out to a header? COYS!
Missed the second half as I had to go out. I was expecting nothing, so what a great surprise. I'm so glad we seem to have finally woken up. Got to keep it going now as I have a feeling The Goons will.
What a game, fantastic advert for ourselves and the Prem. We deserved that for sheer effort, let alone that the goals themselves were all quality in their own ways. Anyone else think that the 4-3-3 option is one well worth exploring further?
We didn't pass the ball until THUDD arrived, he changed the game. His timing and the weight of his passes was sublime. He looks thin and hungry and MUST start against Wigan. He makes the difference. I missed the first five minutes as I was watching the GP and missed the start. From what I saw the first half was pretty even accept the City defence was comfortable and we kept passing backwards. NOthing changed until THUDD came on. Now, come on you mousers.
