The Athletic understands that VAR not sending off Harry Kane last night was because Robertson was jumping when fouled. (The Athletic) So actually, it was Robertson's fault for not taking the full force and having his leg broken!
Again var official should be sacked plain and simple. If you make a judgement call like that but then make a totally different one with Robertson you are not doing the job. Both should be referred to ref.
Even just ignoring the fact that it should make no difference. He only jumps because he sees the chsllenge coming and tries to avoid it. When point of contact is made, his leg is actually still on the floor but it’s on the way up. Said this the other day, the only thing worse than the **** decisions they make are the awful justifications they give afterwards. Wasn’t a foul on Jota cos he stopped… even though that makes no difference and he hasn’t actually stopped. Newcastle wasn’t a pen cos ‘Cancelo came away with the ball’ even though it was Ederson that committed the foul. Everyone would have bit more respect if they went yeah sorry we made an error there and we’ll use that to improve. No one wants to take any responsibility
Sack the lot. But most of all. Sky and bbc or whoever is paying former refs to comment on incidents needs to call these assholes in (dermot Gallagher especially) and lay it out that they pay the wages not the referee union and either get critical or get out
I see a referee that burned his bridges is more than willing to use the kane tackle to self publicise https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59736316 Clattenburg calls out the var scumbag.
"BBC Sport approached PGMOL, which declined to comment." And that bit infuriates me the most - like in the over-promoted Oliver case with Virgil last year, they wait three months until most of the fuss has died down, then crawl out of the woodwork and slip a mealy-mouthed, half-arsed explanation (no apology) as to how they completely and utterly ****ed up a simple call that a child with a whistle and a basic understanding of the rules of the game could get correct in their sleep.
All that's needed is the people who show the games and highlights to absolutely savage every single var **** up to the point where they publish the guys home address and thatd fix it quick smart.
same as the Fernandes one on Curtis Jones which imo was much worse than the one Pogba who at least could say he got the ball .
Both him and Kavanagh (on var) are from Greater Manchester so it's not a surprise. I think the club should request neither of them get anywhere near officiating us again.
we beat City 1-0 and we lost 3-0 to Chelsea when Nuno thought losing by 3 every week was the hipster thing to do.
your board is always like that mainly on the lines of "poor little Tottingham - the media is biased against us - the refs are biased against us - Var is biased against us ; the PL and EUFA are biased against us " At least you have a manager now who knows what he is doing though feel obliged to point out he is about as restrained as Klopp .
