Winks proved to be the correct decision tonight.
UEFA games suit him much more than yer usual PL melee.

Hmm. Dele's flicks and tricks often win us big games. They didn't work tonight.

Got us into the Final. Just too Mercurial and ephemeral when it mattered tonight....

I thought Dele looked nervous through a good part of the game. So far he has had nerves of steel but we forget how young he is.

Well I'm proud of the lads tonight we played well but it wasn't enough. With all our injuries this season and having no home ground and no new signings poch has done a fantastic job .gutted we lost but overall plenty to be proud of spurs we love you :emoticon-0152-heart

I couldn't believe the penalty, let alone the timing of it. As someone said earlier, in a bizarre sense, I'm glad Liverpool scored again as I would have hated to Spurs to lose to that solitary penalty!

Liverpool were quite poor despite their two goals but their defence easily managed their area.

It's been a good journey Spurs. Now move on, and strengthen wisely.

Yep when you consider the resources at his disposal and the continued stadium issues, Poch has worked miracles.

How many other coaches could have done what he did?

As I’ve kept saying, the club has to back him now or set him free.

Bizarre game to watch I thought

    Lacked intensity and rhythm throughout

A lot of those players will be wondering ‘what if’ for a long time I think. That game was there to be won tonight.

Thats exactly how i feel about it...that 'what if' is bugging me. i kept on saying to my mates that we just need to move it up 1 level and we can win. I think the occasion swallowed them up unfortunately

Proud of the herculean effort it took to get here. The 2nd legs against both City and Ajax, as well as the 1st leg against Dortmund, will live long in the memory as some of the most thrilling nights of European football i have ever witnessed.

Gutted to have lost and particularly after such a damp squib of a match (maybe a 3 week break isn't such a good idea after all? I was chatting to a former coach of mine who played PL football back in the day for Ipswich and he said that typically the week after the season ends you're ok and then the tiredness just hits you like a freight train and your body and mind scream for a proper break. Goes a long way to explaining why both euro finals were so crap.)...but the pessimist in me worried that winning the damn thing would have papered over some pretty huge cracks in the squad. I was also genuinely nervous that it would cause Poch to look elsewhere, convinced that he would be unable to replicate that sort of success with the resources we can give him.

For the first time since his first season, our path is clear. We are no longer waiting patiently for the current group of players to grow into winners. It is clear that they aren't quite ever going to get there. I said this a few months ago and I stand by it now: this chapter with this group has come to an end. For the first time in Poch's reign, there are clear deficiencies in the first team itself, not just the wider squad. And that is why we have fallen short and slipped away in the league. We just aren't strong enough at RB or CM.

And so our path ahead is clear. Whether Levy will walk it or not remains to be seen. I hope he does. We are genuinely on the cusp of greatness. Closer to United and Arsenal in points yet to City and Pool in aspirations. Let's walk that path.

Agreed pool were there for the taking but for whatever reason we just didn't front up .poch has worked wonders with this squad but in the back of my mind lucas starting may have made the difference who knows ...but in poch I trust .today wasn't our day but give him the money and next season may will be our turn

    Disagree.

Seen performances like that in numerous PL games where the
nature of the performance would implicitly be a statement of intent.

Well that is something the players have to live with for a long time
(the "if only I had ..." would for me) .

Too early for me to think about moving players on, where we go next etc.

    Simply equally gutted and proud.

Never in the dark football times of the late 90s could I see myself watching Spurs in the CL, let alone for 4 seasons on the trot and in the final with 60000 other spurs fans in a brand new stadium.

    The difference is immense

Unlucky guys. We were there last year so know how you feel. Poor game all round, early goal sort of killed it as we just sat back and pretty much just soaked up the pressure and 2 set pieces decided it.

Keep hold of Poch and he’ll win you a trophy at some point.

The gap from when both teams played made a difference as did the early goal.
