One key plus for Gazzaniga is that he is outstanding at initiating attacks (as distinct from playing pitty-patty games in our own box - although he does get these going occasionally as a surprise variation). His long clearances are often pinpoint accurate. Hugo’s aren’t. And even Hugo’s short passing is heart-stopping, as Brian says! Key observation on MOTD was when Toby hoofed the ball into touch rather than pass back to Hugo. Very well spotted, and very revealing. These days Lloris reminds me too much of Gomes.
Hadn’t realised you were ITK!! I’ll maintain what you said before. Any later is movable at the right price. Neither are that bad as players, there would definitely be interest somewhere.
Maintain all you like, but you're wrong: when nobody is willing to sign a player on anything other than a loan, there is no "right price" because nobody is interested in any price - or, as I have said multiple times now... Not at any price as the most interest anyone showed in Janssen and GKN was a loan move, but don't let the facts get in the way of your Narrative
I'm sorry that you find it "boring" that your tedious Narrative cannot stand up to cold, hard facts but frankly I couldn't give a toss what you think if your argument is the equivalent of walking around Tesco and seeing mountains of Marmite-flavour ice cream on the shelves and in the storeroom the day of its expiry date and thinking "Hmm, that must mean lots of people want to buy it" in spite of the wealth of evidence to the contrary that's staring you in the face Nobody wanted to sign Janssen and Nkoudou last summer, therefore they weren't sold. It's not that ****ing difficult to understand.
What cold hard facts? Evidence? All you’ve provided so far is your opinion, your version. And I could give less of a toss what you think, I assure you.
These cold, hard facts Cold, hard fact 1: Besiktas consider loan for Janssen Cold, hard fact 2: Fenerbahce considering another loan for Janssen Cold, hard fact 3: Saint-Etienne make loan bid for Nkoudou Cold, hard fact 4: Mainz make loan offer for Nkoudou You know what those cold, hard facts say don't you? Not at any price as the most interest anyone showed in Janssen and GKN was a loan move, but don't let the facts get in the way of your Narrative It's almost like I knew what I was talking about all along...
The fs t that they want the player on loan, possibly with an option to buy contradicts your assertion that there’s no interest in the players. There’s clearly interest, I just needs to be at the right price. Cold hard fact: GKN is currently on loan at Monaco in Ligue 1.
Just wading in here for a moment I think GKN and Janssen are 2 poor examples to focus on as both - as HBIC rightly says - come with major question marks hovering over them that will likely put off any buyer who can afford to match or better their current wages. For me, the greater concern has to be the players who have been wrecked by injury and have emerged the other side a level down from where they were but could and should still attract healthy interest from numerous sides but didn't. Dembele, Wanyama, Rose and Lamela were all retained beyond the summer and while I didn't expect us to sell all of them I found it surprising that we didn't at least shift one. Even more surprising was the fact that lamela was offered a new contract at the start of the season for his usual flash in the pan 6 good games when in reality in the 6 seasons he has spent at the club he has consistently flattered to deceive. Those are the players we need to be more ruthless with.
Please take a moment to read the comment I've posted in response to you six times, as judging by that frankly pathetic response you clearly haven't Not at any price as the most interest anyone showed in Janssen and GKN was a loan move, but don't let the facts get in the way of your Narrative When I tell you six times that the only interest in players is in a loan move, you saying that GKN being on loan at Monaco proves there's interest doesn't prove a single thing you said to be correct - but what it does to is further support what I told you half a dozen times while you were still prattling on about transfer fees that the only interest in Janssen and GKN was for loan moves, something I have backed up with actual evidence ...which reminds me, where's your evidence of Levy demanding excessive transfer fees for the two players? You kept bringing it up even though I was telling you repeatedly about the lack of interest in a permanent move for either player, yet while I can back up what I said because it was actually possible to due to there being a wealth of evidence, where's your proof? Do you have any? If not, is it related to how we were willing to take a £5m loss on Janssen back in January? Also, when Fenerbahce's president himself confirmed that there was no option to make Janssen's loan permanent last season, assuming there will be an option to buy is simply wrong - especially since neither Mateo Kovacic nor Youri Tielemans have clauses in their respective loans to Chelsea and Leicester permanent to cite a couple of other prominent examples from this season So, in summary, there was no interest in buying Janssen or Nkoudou last summer - and when there's no interest, there's no price. That's how the concept of trade has worked for the entirety of human history.
Danny Rose is still unable to play regularly and has some other issues that make him high maintenance. Neither is likely to improve as he ages, so who wants that given Rosie knows what he's worth? There were heavy rumours that we were willing to entertain offers for all of these players. I'm inclined to believe them. You pays your money and takes your choice as to whether there weren't any, there were some and the players wouldn't go for them or we turned down approaches. Again, no proof of any of it. It's all speculation based mostly upon the individual's view of Daniel Levy/MP/the club. There's no proof in any direction but Levy definitely told Crouchie that he'd rot in the U23's if he turned down Stoke, so we can play hardball when needed.
Where does it say it was the ONLY interest, and why? If there’s interest to loan them, there’ll be interest to buy. Just at the right price. It’s very possible that other clubs will pay to take them on loan, but will not pay the asking price to buy them. The rest of your shouty, excitable post does nothing but prove that it’s a perfectly debatable point. You can SHOUT all you like. It won’t make you any more right.
5 mill for GKN 10 mill for Janssen I'd sell them useless bags of ****e like hot cakes all day long. Problem with Darth Levy is if he thinks he can get more he will try it on. He always wants to get back more than he paid but this is not how football works...players are not buildings. So we are stuck with e.g Janssen as no one is stupid enough to pay the 17 mill for a useless fat Dutch bloke Same coin, flip side He tries to buy players from other clubs for a bag of Wotsits and a tin full of biscuits, maybe throw a tenner in if he's in a good mood e.g Grealish. Nowadays smaller clubs than us have enough money to tell us to **** off.
Allow me to point something out to you: you have had plenty of opportunities to provide a link - that's it, a single link - reporting that the club had received an offer for the full transfer of Janssen or Nkoudou last summer, and yet you haven't. Why is that? Is it because you know damn well there isn't one because there was no interest in signing them so there is no such thing as a "right price" for someone that nobody wants to buy, or is it because you're only interested in wasting my time and have no intention to waste your own? Bloody-minded idiocy doesn't make you any more wrong, but it does have the benefit of helping other people realise that you're wrong and if you had any sense you would have dropped it by the third time I told you that no club was interested in signing Janssen or Nkoudou on anything other than a loan deal and you were still banging on about transfer fees (you know, the other thing you haven't provided a scrap of evidence to support, yet you have the gall to say that I'm the one treating their own opinion as fact...)
